Doubt it. Most Calzaghe fans seem to be Roy Jones fans too.

Obviously can recognise quality when they see it

Joe has let himself down in between Eubank to Lacy, so much so that shit Sven Ottke was rated higher than him. But history cannot be changed and he complied with a shit promoter when he should have been a bigger star and earned more money that Naz and Lewis. He is making something up for the lost time but cannot regain those years, as someone said a great fighter but not a legend.

I have to take my hat of to Calzaghe. He just keeps winning even when I don't expect him to. He's got great stamina, speed and chin.
But he doesn't realy excite me for some reason. Maybe it's because he's not got a huge punch. I'd like him to be able to dish out more KO's, it makes for more excitement. Technicaly he's very good thou.

RJJ on the other hand is a true legend. At his peak he fought and beat everyone out there and did it with style. I'd like to see him do the same again against Calzaghe. Unfortunately I can't see it happening.

He really should have found a way to make the Steve Collins fight happen, especially. At a time when he could have fought Benn and Eubank, they were fighting each other, but once Collins beat Eubank, he was the man at SMW. All Roy had to do was whip Steve Collins, and nobody could say he ducked anybody at SMW when you consider the state of the division at that time. Because Roy never fought ANY of the big European names...Collins, Benn, and Eubank at 168 and Dariusz at 175, it leaves room to question his choices. I think he beats all of the names above, but considering that he moved up to a weaker LHW division when there were better fights at SMW, he will always suffer a little in my book. It's also too bad he never fought Mike Nunn, but that wasn't his fault that Nunn got himself beat by a journeyman.

The possibility exists that when Calzaghe beats Jones we'll get a break from tysonbruno for a while.

There won't be much crying. Calzaghe is the clear underdog in my book. He is expected to lose.

He probably did miss out on some good fights with those guys, thou I think he would have beaten them all. Benn might've put up an excellent show and that would've been a cracking fight. He was too good for Eubank, and Collins would maybe have been bullied a bit with RJJ's bigger natural size and strength.

I've no doubt RJJ, would've fought them if matches could be made, doubt few of those guys would be keen thou (maybe Collins), unless the money was huge.

I remember watching the Jonathan Ross show around the time all the Brits were fighting each other. Benn and Eubank were in the studio and then he put up a video link to James Toney (who was immense around this time, and IBF champion If I remember). Toney then called them cowards for not fighting him and then said exactly what he would do to them. Benn muttered something like 'idiot' and 'fool' to Toney. Eubank didn't say a word and was visibly shaken, and actualy looked confused and scared. Not long after that RJJ destroyed Toney, I doubt any of those 2 would've liked to step into the ring with him, they were happy making enough money just fighting each other and also the likes of Watson and Collins. IMO RJJ would've beaten them all, with a bit to spare.

benn said toney was thick as 2 short planks, its easy for toney to be tough when your 1000's of miles away. Eubank visibly shaken thats rediculous, i seen that jonathan ross show loadsa times.

Benn always said he wanted RJJ & thought that RJJ would prob beat him but said that he would be so up for that fight, it would of been a dream fight. Collins said he wanted to go to florida & knock on RJJ door for a fight. Eubank in his prime & mentally motivated beats RJJ.
