    Default Heavy bag keeps falling

Is there a secret to hanging a heavy bag? Mine has worked it's way loose from the bolt at least 4 times, the last time was when my 10-yr old was playing around w/ the bag. It's a good thing it didn't land on him & break his ankle or something!
How can I keep the nut from coming loose from the bolt & still keep it loose enough to turn? Something as simple as loc-tite?
    TIA,
    Dave.

What kind of set up do you have?

Get yourself a "D-Ring Bolt" and thread the straps of the bag through it.

    Hey Chris,
I have an Everlast heavy bag/speed bag stand, similar to this one:
Heavy Bag & Speed Bag Stand .
It's attached w/ two d-rings, & the d-rings are what keep coming apart. They're held together w/ a nut & bolt. The d-ring setup is similar to this:
http://www.kmsinc.net/swivel.jpg, but bolted together, not riveted. I found this same swivel d-ring at Wal-mart, but it's not intended for weight bearing use.
    Dave.

I don't know what you can be done about the bolt, but you can buy another swivel or chain and swivel assembly. Amazon.com: heavy bag swivel: Sports & Outdoors

Odd,I have that exact same stand,I mean exactly that stand. We have an O ring on ours, with 3 lockdown nuts,we shove some leather and tape to keep down wear and tear on the O ring,a little bit of plumbers tape, and its never fallen down on us,ever.

Thanks for the replies! I think what I'm going to try is get a little bit longer bolt, one that will still fit in the d-rings, & try 2 nuts on it, to keep the one nut from working it's way loose.

I was thinking about that idea too, all good so long as it fits right? Good luck.

    Thanks,
I just ended up going to Lowes, & getting a swivel tie snap like this:
    http://www.handcraftedjewls.com/Pict...2086%20200.jpg .
It's supposed to support up to 150 lbs, so I figure it should be fine for my 70lb bag plus the swinging action it'll get from punching.
    Dave.
