I don't really follow the cases but to be honest the intensity of the OJ hate is so strong it almost makes me root for him.

I mean how come R Kelly isn't hated the world over for filming himself fucking a child, or Snoop Dog for shooting dead a 20 year old kid?

Not justifying the killings at all, they are clearly murder but shooting your ex wife for leaving you for another man at least can be explained by irrational jealousy and self destruction. I mean it's more understandable to me than stomping to death a man who owed you a few bucks, or shooting a taxi driver after a row.

Im twisted on this,regardless of how it may come across on the other OJ thread,Im not an OJ supporter.
I strongly suspect that he had something to do with the death of his ex-wife.
But be that as it may, he was acquitted,and this is an obvious payback sentance.
I bet you dollars to doughnuts this gets tossed on appeal,while the rule of law doesnt allways give you the results you wanted,you cant re-write them after the fact. If there isnt law,there is chaos. This sentancing is a leaning toward vigilante justice,and that way leads to chaos.
But at the same time,I dont like being in the position of having to defend the rights of a wife beater. But if we dont defend the rights of scum balls,they might not be available for us if we're mistankenly charged.

On one hand,It's asinine that such a long sentence is handed down on a robbery conviction.......1st offense......when at the same time many rapist's and some violent repeat offenders are skating off on technicalities and thin sentences of less.
