Default The Reaction of Three British Fighters to Calzaghe's Retirement

Given Joe's retirement, and no possibility of a Froch/Calzaghe fight, you'd think Froch would finally show him a little respect. Compare Hatton and Froch's reaction to his retirement:

Man, this Froch is becoming the new Mouth of Boxing. Enough. STFU! FOR FROCH.

Frochs funny, I don't think he realises theres a list of bigger fights than him out there for JC if he was to fight on, why because Froch is pretty shit, good to see him mention Kessler but in truth I think he'll avoid him like the plague

TBH it's not like there isn't some truth to what Froch says even if it is a little OTT. I do think the Lacy & Kessler fights are defining but his resume does not make him the best British boxer of all time as a horrible report on the BBC just said.

Anyway though I wish Joe well, unlike others I would never condemn a fighter who chooses to retire & feels they've done what they need to, at the end of the day, there's more to most of their lives than boxing & they deserve to enjoy it.

Its a lack of class on Froch's part - he says hes got big fights ahead of him in Taylor or Kessler but when he steps into the ring with either he will get beat

I am no Calzaghe fan but Froch's name should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Joes. Fucken hell Carl beat someone in the top 10 and then sprout your mouth off.

    I'm likin this Froch guy

He's not completely off but he's not anymore right either. Calzaghe is a great fighter who you feel never really got truly tested peak for peak against another great fighter. You look at Calzaghe's career and wish he could have put his skills to test against opponents like James Toney did who doesn't have the glossy record but might still have the more impressive career.

Of course you want more because Calzaghe just lost to much time, before he fought Lacy he had NEVER been tested against an opponent anyone thought about. Regardless of how good those 5 wins or so he had after that fight, that's to much lost time. It's not like he can really change that now though and really a fight with Froch would make anyone think any more of him.

Good for him though I hope he retires rich enough not to care about anything anyone says about him on a message board/

I undestand Froch's fustration but he is starting to look like a bitter knob head.

Compaired to Joe he has done nothing yet.

After watching Froches last fight I think he gets hit much to easy to often to remain unbeaten for long.
I think Froch will lose in the next 2 years or so.

Froch doesnt give enough credit to Calzaghe. He obviously wants to fight Calzaghe, but they are leagues apart IMO. Froch should just let it go, he isnt going to get a Calzaghe fight, so he should just give credit where credit is due.

One of the great boxing minds of recent years Calzaghe is.

He would and still could whitewash Carl.
