I hope the number of pay per view buyers for the upcoming fights with Chavez Jr. are low. For one I feel it's bull s@$* that a fighter who doesnt even have a title is headlining a pay per view event. Second i feel the promoters are taking us for fools by doing so. I hope we all wake up and stop purchasing thse type of fights. What's next, every ordinary fight we will have to pay to watch?

Nobody should pay to watch Chavez Jr. It's outrageous really. No Khan fight prior to Barrera was worthy of PPV either.

Just a fleecing of the masses really. Just say NO.

I didnt even give buying the Khan fight a second thought , must think we're fucking mugs ( how many bought it )

That's why UFC is taking over at least they deliver action no matter how amatuerish it is .
I'd gladly have paid for the Don King mammoth cards of the 90's even if the headlining fight were shit ,but Enzo Mac fighting somebody they found in the pub and Nicky Cook ?
    Do me a favour .

Long Live Setanta, Sky are taking the piss this side of the pond .
I wouldnt pay to watch JCCjnr .

You are absolutley right about the ufc bro! It is a bit boring at times when they are rolling and hugging like fags but at least they almost always bring action. What the hell is wrong with some boxers now days? Many are lacking that fire, that fury, the killer instinct!! Hopefully this year will be reviving for the sport. As long as fighters dont act like homos and dodge each other over money issues cause let's face it, most of these dudes are getting paid well anyways. Vic vs. Montiel, Pacquiao vs. JMM, Mosley vs. Cotto 2, Angulo vs. Kirkland, Valero vs. Pacman, this list goes on and on. Step it up promoters make these dam fights already!!!!!

Economics 101. Stop buying them and the prices will come down fast.

I don't think people are going to stop buying the bullcrap PPV's just cos' the promoters are so good at hyping up absolute crap especially to the newcomers in boxing.

I could also see a few more lower key boxing matches going along with the UFC/MMA attatched to it to make people think it's worthy of a PPV, a la Roy Jones Jr v Omar Sheika last weekend. Although I'm not sure if that was PPV or not I think more promoters may try to jump on the bandwagon and make it so.

The amount of newcomers/novices in boxing will always outnumber the amount of hardcores who know better by a very long margin, so, the promoters can do pretty much all they like. I'm sure they don't mind losing out on the die hard fans as long as they make their dollar, gotta love 'em

JC Jr. has a lot of followers. Imo he's ready for the top dogs. I wanna see him against guys like Sergio Mora, Sergio Martinez, or Sergei Dzindziruk.

Heck... Anybody with "Serg" on his name will do just fine.

Amir Khan would be a bigger star if he stayed on terrestrial channel free to viewers because he would have built a bigger fan base and then when he was actually any good he could have moved to ppv like Hamed and Hatton did.
