Pac has proven himself to be the current best fighter p4p. Saying Hatton won't be p4p champ if he beats Pac is akin to saying if Hatton beats the best boxer in the world he'll officially be the 2nd best boxer in the world - unless he beats JMM, who Pac beat. It really is sad that people dislike Hatton so much they are putting forth disclaimers regarding the p4p rankings before the fight just in case he pulls it off.
As for the OP's question, I believe that it really depends which Ricky Hatton turns up and how much the ref actually lets him rough Pac up. If Hatton is allowed to get in Pac's face then Pac could be in trouble, since he won't have the room to let off those lancing shots down the middle, which Hatton will definitely be susceptible to when he initially comes forward. Hatton needs to step all over Pac's toes and punish his body as much as possible, imo. Hopefully this will slow him down for the later rounds, because in past fights Hatton has found it difficult to get a second wind and if that happens against Pac he'll get picked off. Would be nice to see Hatton shut all the haters up by putting another body-blow stoppage on Pac's record. He's definitely going to be the boss in terms of physical strength, and he needs to use that advantage from the get-go. If he's sloppy defensively, or not aggressive enough, he could end up getting hurt. I am hoping Mayweather Snr has helped him with his defense, and although his footwork has always been slightly underrated, I don't think he will have a problem cutting off the ring. Then again, I don't anticipate that Pac will run away - at least not to begin with. All in all, I think the only real advantage Hatton has is his size/strength, but I would say Pac has slightly faster hands. So it really depends on who has the right game plan/executes it properly.

If Pac gets over zealous and gets caught and Hatton hurts him early and finishes him off he could win.
There is no other way he can win this in my mind. If Pacs not hurt and the ref is fair and stops a Hatton hug fest ,I cant see him winning on points or his legs and arms keeping up with Mannys over that distance.
