The Associated Press: De La Hoya to announce his boxing future Tuesday
Well obviously he's something building up?
I can't see why he would build an announcement for retirement? Although people that have a stature might very well need it.
Yes. He would've continued fighting if he defeated Pac.
No. Coz he's gonna focus more in promoting.
I don't know

I hope he fights JCCjr at his comfortable fighting weight.
I wishi he would fight Mosely again or Wright.
"If there's a better chin in the world than Pryor's, it has to be on Mount Rushmore." -Pat Putnam.
the robbery in the 2nd fight kinda took away from what could have been a great trilogy, 3rd fight being a toss up, Wright well I'd say it all depends on how he performs, if he doesn't look that good well that's the only way i'd see that fight happening, and not even seeing how it wouldn't really mean much, DLH/Wright should have happened right when DLH really beat Mosley in the 2nd fight, should have been DLH/Wright for the undisputed 154 lb title
I bet he's going to announce his next fight will be at 122 against Molitor.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I thought he'd challenge Calzaghe!!!
Of course ODH has done a great bunch of stuff for boxing, and I wish the guy would stick around a little longer and fight JC Jr. or Mosley or even Vernon Forrest (who I always wanted to see him fight) OR Ricky Hatton.
But with him doing this fighting once every blue moon I reckon it's all for the best that he call it a day and focus on promoting. If they ever made a boxing league, I figure Oscar would be in the running for Commissioner or something high up.
Id probably favor him to beat jcc jr. as long as his mind is still in it and his confidence is still intact. I really dont mind if he fights him. I also dont mind if he chooses to retire. Or maybe hes waiting for the Wright-Williams fight to happen before making a decision. You just never know with Oscar. Im thinking retirement though.

Great promoter with the boxing world in his hands, many deals in the works. But faded and tattered fighter at this stage I believe.I hope he retires for good and not run the risk of loosing to guys he would have dusted off just a years ago.
Last night what was telling that when he was asked about his boxing future was his response..."Umm, ask my wife". I think that says it all and he will announce his retirement.
I've always liked Oscar. If he has the desire to fight and can give us 12 good rounds I'd welcome any meaningful opponent, but if he all we are going to get is a shadow of a once awesome fighter then I hope he hangs them up.
Most bad government has grown out of too much government. Thomas Jefferson
He should have a farewell fight. Against Chavez Jr. or someone like Carlos Baldomir. A KO win is unlikely against Baldomir but if he does it well that's good for him. Atleast he can justify the headlines he personally fabricated , "GOLDEN BOY SHINES AGAIN, KNOCKS OUT IRON CHINNED FORMER CHAMP OPPONENT WHO TOOK P4P CHAMP MAYWEATHER TO THE DISTANCE."
Fukk that. I hope he fights a decent opponent and wins. He deserves it somehow.
An empty can is always noisy.
I would bet my collection of rusty pennies that he'll fight JCC jr and possibly another one after that, he sees Moseley and Hopkin doing well way past their prime and I doubt he would accept to be anywhere lesser than them in term of time accomplishment. But well, first JCC for sure and let's see what's next but I am certain he does another fight and almost certain he'll fight at least another time after that.
