Default Devon Alexander in talks to fight Paul Spadafora

Devon Alexander-Paul Spadafora in Talks For July - Boxing News

    It's in there.

I give Alexander all the credit for taking on tough fights in Witter & Urango, but seriously... Paul Spadafora

I mean could he be more washed up?

I'll be pissed if Alexander wastes his next fight on this. I'm hoping it's only a ploy to lure in Zab or a keep busy so him & Bradley can fight later in the year.

This fight doesn't make sense for the 140 picture or for Alexander's career at this point. He is now recognized as a top 3 140 pounder. A 140 pounder to look out for. This would be a step back into where he came from. Zab wants Alexander now and I don't see why not start these negotiations. Spadafora is getting a gift chance if granted this fight.

What would the money difference be between fighting Maidana and Spadafora? Anywhere close it's an obvious decision.

Maidana must be worth more, he's got HBO exposure plus German promotional money supporting him. In contrast, Spadafora fought a tomato can in front of 1100 people in his hometown in his last fight.

If Spadafora has that, it's the chance of a lifetime which I doubt he can win at this point of his career but would he make it, it would be the hell of an achievement.

No way the money is close. Maidana is a much better sell. Spadafora isn't even a very watchable fight.

What exactly makes him washed up? He's looked rusty. Not terrible. He still posses talent and skills. Can he beat Alexander? I think he can make it a decent fight. But it's not cuz he's washed up. It's more in the fact that Spadafora in his prime was never really an elite fighter to begin with. He was good. But I never considered him elite.

Never really liked Paul Spadafora inside the ring or outside the ring, he wasn't a bad fighter and showed at times some very good attributes.

But to me he could never put it together for the full 12 rounds, not too mention his gift decisions most notaby against Lenord Dorin.

This isn't a bad fight but then again whats really the point of it ? other than people hopefully finally seeing Paul Spadafora's undefeated record disappear.

I thought he wasn't up to much when he was in his prime, don't go thinking I thought he was elite. Now he looks even worse. If it was against decent opposition then fine, but his fighting guys that make Matthew Hatton look like Willie Pep.

I think this is a pointless fight, kind of like Khan-Salita & I had better hopes for Alexander than this shit. I'll deal with it as long as it's only to keep him busy while Bradley fights Abregu. No way does Spaddy deserve a shot at 2 belts.

Actually, I quite like your idea of Spadafora-Judah, never thought about it before but now that you mention it, that is an intriguing fight.
