    Default Shannon Briggs....another comeback (yawn)

So the dreadlocked disaster is back at his old game 1. Fight bums 2. Talk shit about the Klitschko's.

Shannon beat some Rafael Pedro in 28 seconds in his comeback fight....well now down to brass tacks, he's 38 now and I wonder is he actually going to do something this time or will he fade away again?

Also whatever happened to the beef he had with Sam Peter? I would actually still LOVE to see that fight....right now with Sam being in good shape I'd favor him to KO Briggs.

Also would Shannon give anyone trouble right now? And in his prime could he have competed with the Klitschko's?

Didn't Briggs test positive after that fight? Or am I confusing that with someone else?

I think Briggs could do OK against a lot of fringe contenders right now specifically those that can't move well (which it seems to be most of them)

I think Peter would demolish Briggs at this point.

Briggs fought again since the fight he tested positive for whatever banned substance. I don't think it was 'roids (aka Pacquiao's magical juju juice of power and freedom and beating opponents up and down the scale serum, omg he's such a 'roid user). Im sure it was some type of dietary supplement.. Briggs craimed he came down from 330+ to 250+... Not sure how you do that without drugs.

Briggs would crush Peter to a pulp. Peter may win a couple fights, but if you've watched him fight, he's a bum that could only show up for the two Toney fights. I just think he would get demolished by Arreola, Adamek, Klits (obv), briggs, chagaev... Even as flat footed Briggs is, he can get outta the way of Peters punches... don't get caught up in this cheezy comeback.

Peter will show up +20 lbs to his biggest fight on this trail and lose a huge points decision. I think if they waited 1 or 2 more fights for peter before Vitali, they would have had a better measuring stick for him against a giant Klit.

Hell why not...another bum haye can fight and get way way too much credit for beating. No reason shannon can't get a slice of the journeyman pie.

In his "prime" he got a total gift decision against George Foreman who was about 48 at the time I think and was battered off Lennox (which is expected and not something to be ashamed of). He would have always been destroyed by any Klit, providing Wlad could be disciplined throughout and not get caught like back in the disaster days.

Shannon for some reason let himself become amazingly buff....To the point it hinders him....

His punch output is like 10 punches a round....

A prime Briggs was a tough customer in fights he trained hard for....

Briggs is not short talent wise...Just lazy and a bit over confident

He does I know that for sure...He does a lot of charity for kids who have breathing problems but Shannon would pull that6 card way way way too often....Always when he looked bad or when he lost he would say..

"I was having an asthma attack"..

Not too take away from asthma because my son has it and it can be hell if u went by what Shannon says it would be believed that his only losses came because of it

    Good assesment of Briggs.

In his prime I think he was much more talented than either Klitschko.

But he was lazy and came in unfocused sometimes.

He rocked Lennox Lewis big time in their match.

I think Briggs in his prime could KO Wladimir. He was big enough and quick enough to get to him.

Now though, he should stick to fighting on the WBA circuit lol

I'd like to see him fight Oldanir Solis or Holyfield maybe.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Thing is yes he does have asthma. Then if he wants to improve his stamina putting on all that weight and bulky muscle is the LAST thing he should do for a fight.

But Lyle im surprised you didn't talk about how Shannon came in weighing less then he had in his last few fights which was such a big deal for you with Peter when he lost weight and beat some bums. Shannon did the same thing but you are less thrilled

in all fairness, at least the bum that Peter knocked out had just KO'd Oleg Maskaev, and well Peter has a lot more left than Briggs

Yes he has more left. But Even with his more I Do not see him beating any of the champs right now. Him and Arreola should fight.

oh neither do i, well maybe aside from Haye, and even there i wouldn't have him as the favorite, IMO Arreola overwhelms him and stops him
