"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
The seats are actually really good. Not a bad seat in the house. They don't open up the upper seating for boxing, so even the $35 seats are good. The undercard are ok for the most part, usually a lot of local guys, and guys from California and surrounding states. Here is the undercard for saturday;
Javier Molina vs. Francisco Rios-Gil, 6 rounds, junior middleweights
Stan Martyniouk vs. Khadaphi Proctor, 6 rounds, lightweights
Cornelius White vs. Demetrius Davis, 6 or 8 rounds, cruiserweights
Michael Ruiz Jr. vs. Jonathan Alcantara, 6 rounds, bantamweights
Roman Andreev vs. Manuel Del Cid, 4 rounds, lightweights
Matt Villanueva vs. Adrian Aleman, 4 rounds, junior bantamweights
JMM now a days gets his face messed up too, this could be a blood bath. JMM has great durability and staying power, but it can't last forever. One day he will simply not be able to get back up.
My head sees him convincingly out boxing Kat, but I have a sneaking suspicion that an early suprise could happen.
My picks for the weekend
Marquez by KO - I have a feeling he'll hurt Katsidis early and unlike Casamayor he won't let him off the hook.
Froch on points - I think his workrate will get him the W. He'll have to go through some rough patches here and there.
Ward on points - I think he'll get hurt sometime during the fight but will recover and win in the 118-110 range. Would be kinda funny if both of Goosen's top fighters got KO'd within a week
This weerkend is stacked, I cannot wait. I don't care so much about the Ward fight, but the other two are potential classics.
I don't know who I want to win out of Marquez-Katsidis, so am just hoping for a good fight. I will be rooting for Froch, but it's a dangerous fight for him. If he is going to tempt Abraham with the low hands, then he better maintain that gap between them. It's going to be a nail biter.
