Default Chagaev and Povetkin To Fight For WBA heavyweight title

Ruslan Chagaev and Alexander Povetkin have been nominated to fight for the regular WBA heavyweight title following Wladimir Klitschko’s victory over champion David Haye.

Klitschko, who soundly out-pointed Haye In Germany last weekend, is now the WBA’s super champion. As usual the the move is designed to cash in by generating yet another sanctioning fee.

This has been on the cards for a long time now. Since the Povetkin/ Haye fight quickly stalled, it's been in the works that these two would follow on.

And yes, I hope Haye sticks round to fight Povetkin and win back his belt.

I don't think Haye would fight Chagaev because the money doesn't make sense anywhere but in GB and the British Board of Boxing won't sanction a Chagaev fight in GB because of his Hep.

This is probably the quickest and easiest way for Haye to get a return with Wlad to fight and beat the winner. However I think either fighter may not want to fight Haye and go straight for Wlad.

This is a fight that will answer a lot of questions about both Chagaev and Povetkin.

wow wasn't sure wed ever see povetkin with a live opponent again. Not sure chagaev is the same mentally after being jabed to death by wlad, don't think many opponents are after they're dominated so baddly. Then again not sure povetkins self belief is fully there either. Might make for a fun fight actually if they both show up ready to fight.

This COULD be a good scrap, but as per usual this is like an MLS playoff to decide who plays Barca.

Wlad will mop the floor with either Chagaev or Povetkin.

Helenius is one I might worry a bit about. Maybe Arreola if he starts really putting his punches together...he's fat but he's powerful and has a good chin. Other than those two I'm not remotely worried about Wlad vs anyone.

I think Stiverne vs Helenius needs to be made!

He just fought AND the winner of Chagaev-Povetkin would be a mandatory to fight him.....so why get your panties in a bunch when I mention him in a thread which involves him?
