    LOVE this stuff!

    Marciano and Mountain Rivera pre-fight!

Turpin has that classic Falling Step technique with both his jab and lead right.
I counted 25 clean landing blows by Robinson while Turpin was on the ropes and the guy stayed up. Tough, tough guy.

Turpin was a damn good fighter, he'd won the 1st fight and I believe he was on his way to winning the 2nd fight until Robinson got cut, and turned it up a couple notches to get him out of there.

Marciano seemed to be pulling for the Brit, Turpin during the fight, which I thought was rather strange.

Robinson's record going into the 2nd Turpin fight was ~> 128-2-2, and besides Turpin in their 1st fight, Robinson's only other loss was to Jake Lamotta. Robinson was also around 30-31 years old and still in his prime for the 2 fights with Turpin, so Turpin deserves tons of credit for hangin' tough with one of the greats of all-time.

Rocky talks like and even looks a bit like Tony Soprano.

Dont know if Rocky was barracking for Turpin or just talking honestly.
I think Rocky is just showing his compassionate side saying "Oh this is murder I feel like jumping in there to help Turpin myself". He wanted the fight stopped way before the Ref did, it was upsetting him.

Hilarious. You guys do realise Rocky wasn't actually calling this fight live, right? He was reading from a script after the fight happened. lol.

I didn't think it was strange. The Rock rooted for the more basic fighter...the guy like him.

Nooooo, really? You mean like all the other replayed fights Rocky used to host in his days as heavyweight king?

    Who knew?

    Chowderhead.

There's so little footage Of Marciano doing any type of commentary, it was just interesting hearing his views on other fighters. Marciano did a bunch of these replayed fights, i'd like to see a few more of them.

I own a whole bunch of them. Among the best are the commentaries Marciano gives on his own fights. I'll look over my library this weekend and I'll see if any of them are on youtube.

Marciano looks like he's about 50 to 80lbs over his fighting weight in most of the vids you see him in after he retired, Italiano food will do that to you.

Yes, but I love to record it on DVD, just stopped recording on VHS.

marbleheadmaui, if you can upload them it will be super! It´s really educative to hear the Rock´s thoughts on the fights.
