    Default Occupy Wall St.

Ok so I've read a bit about these dope smokin' morons, now miles explain your people!

They want and end to free trade, the abolition of all debt (personal up to national), they want free college, the minimum wage to be "at least $20" and they want a "living wage" to be paid out whether you have a job or not.

....Can the police just go ahead and shoot these idiots?

Wouldn't it be more sensible to shoot overpaid bankers and wall street goons and actually reform the system that has been systematically wiping out the middle class for well over 40 years? It's no wonder kids are out of control today, they don't have parents. Just to stay afloat these days you need 2 incomes and wages aren't rising and the only way to see mum is to have her job shipped overseas. Oh, but as long as Dow Jones is stable and US firms are able to invest in Asia then all is okay.

The system is fucked Lyle. This is a start. Not ideal by any means, but a start. Time for a workers (or unemployed and disenfranchised revolution). The US system is rigged and entirely corrupt. Any pretense at democracy is an utter farce.

Yes miles its a great start...now that we have all the slackers in one area we can cart them off and kill them!

Have you seen the damn demands these idiots have put out there?!?! Free college? A living wage paid to EVERYONE.....regardless of whether they have a job or not! $20/hr minimum wage.....who pays for this miles? Who fucking pays for it

Hey you starry eyed stoners, go back to smoking your weed and get the hell out of politics, your ideas are pathetic!!! (Comment aimed at the Occupiers)

If they mean the 99% where the majority of wealth is now excluded from then the are quite correct statistically.

If you cannot see that your political and financial system is an abhorrent mess then god help you Lyle. Let it continue as it is and see where it gets you. Millions of jobs are gone and recession mark 2 is just around the corner. The entire thing is a sham and needs turning inside out. These people are right to be on Wall Street and if I was an American living in America I would be right with them. It's a movement that needs to grow and I am hopeful that it will.

Well done on these people for at least getting down to Wall Street. Obviously the media is going to try and downplay it and act in the interests of Wall Street, but the seeds of discontent are being planted. American's are finally realizing nobody is going to give the country back, they are going to have to take it back.

A vote is worth nothing anymore, civil disobedience is the only alternative.

As far as I know they don't have any unified goal. They're just a whole bunch of people from different walks of life upset with the status quo. I fail to see what it wrong with people expressing themselves.

They'll go away soon unless some kind of charismatic leader appears to unify them, but that's not happening.

Exactly, a dictatorial sort with a loathing of men in shiny suits is what is needed. He should also order the hippies to shave and look presentable. Nobody can take a hippy type seriously.

I agree. Fascism is the way of the future.

Now we just need to find the right strongman/psychopath and we'll be set.

And another thing....this whole thing was started by the God damned Canadians!!! AdBusters or whatever started this crap.

Miles the deal with the wealth is ridiculous...why would Russle Simmons, Michael Moore, Susan Surandon, etc come down to support the protests when they are part of the wealthy elite? These kids don't want "fair" they want SOCIALISM in big bold red letters, they don't seek to fix anything they want to destroy what America is and that (along with them being filthy fucking hippies) is why I hate them.

The gap between rich and poor is ever increasing, the only way the systems stays in place is by keeping the majority of working/middle classes happy and content with a 9-5 job, roof over their heads and enough money to have a holiday.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

The wealth of those people is zilch compared to the billions held by the super elite. It doesn't come close. And stop talking about socialism as it is a word you American's abuse everyday. Many countries hold socialist values and they have functioned in a far more fair and stable manner than America which rapes it's own populace and holds the world to economic blackmail through use of the dollar and insidious pro US organisations like the IMF.

Exactly, why should the working man pay less tax than the rich who avoid it through loopholes and the employment of crafty accountants. The middle man is the corner stone of any society and that is being neglected in the interests of the super rich. The super rich own wall street and own the politicians. The vote means nothing anymore, nobody represents Mr Ordinary.

Miles...the demands of the "Occupy" group are as random as they are frivolous and they are PLENTY frivolous.

I'm a political and economic pragmatist and what these people want in simple terms is to punish the "ultra elites", bring everyone down to the same level, and then continue to be lazy and yes they are lazy.
