This has been a sad year for boxing.

I read where the cause of Ron's death was from "complications from a sudden stomach ailment", it makes me wonder what that was all about.

In any event R.I.P., Ron Lyle, you and Smokin' Joe will be remembered.

R.I.P Ron Lyle he was actually knifed in prison, and needed 35 pints of blood to keep him alive he was pronounced dead twice or something like that. Another amazing fact he didn't turn professional until he was 30 pretty amazing story.

Everyone talks about his fight with George Foreman, but his fight with Earnie Shavers was just as good. And he could of beaten Muhammad Ali at that point in Muhammad Ali's career, but he showed him too much respect and didn't let his hands go enough.
