It's something to do with the police in Ireland. I'm not entirely sure whether its from the northern irish era or earlier, but basically its what people used to call native irelanders who were supporting the British forces. Named after the mixture of Guinness and beer, suggesting that you shouldn't be two drinks in one glass.

    That'll do close enough.

It was a mercenary armed force made up of mainly ww1 soldiers thousands of them. They were jobless on their return from the war in the 20's and were sent to Ireland to back the police against a few factions that then soon formed the original IRA (nothing like the modern one). As there wernt enough police uniforms to go around many wore their old war uniforms, so the two forces together got called the Black n tans.

Not a nice bunch at all, they would murder anyone who wouldn't hold their hands up upon request in some rebel areas and occasionally women and children would be meaningfully cut down too. Their harsh treatment only added fuel to the republican fire, so England withdrew all of them.

I just remembered an old irish song that my mate Declan used to play whenever we were drunk round his place. In an unrelated note, there's a guy near where I live who has two Irish terriers called Blackie and Tannie, cause that's their colouring.

WHo was the 21st president of the United States, and in which film is he the answer to a puzzle?

Nope. You'll probably only know this if you've seen the film or you're a real history buff. In terms of clues, there's an aqueduct in the film named after the president, and its an action movie with Jeremy Irons in it.

That's a trick clue Jeremy Irons isn't in any action movies.

We have a winner. It is indeed Chester A Arthur. The film in question is Die Hard With A Vengeance, and Bruce Willis is set the clue 'what is 21 out of 42?'.

Nope not headache med or gold.

I have to say, it's not like one specific item or product you would find in a drug store today
