He won the first fight handily IMO and was supposedly injured in the second fight. There is just no excuse for being a fat tub of good which he has been all too often though.

As a western fat boy who likes his food, I'm inclined to see your side. But Toney shouldn't be boxing. I'd question whether he could beat Holyfield again at this point. I think at this point, I'd have a decent chance at beating James Toney.

Toney is funny. You can sense that he is pissed off that nobody wants to fight him, but the only thing he can do is stay busy and put together a sequence of wins. Lebedev hardly helped the cause. If Toney can just stay at around 210 pounds and get a couple of wins then he is back in the picture. He has to stay busy though, none of this 'let's fight every 6 months' nonsense. Toney is getting too old, it is now or never.

Perhaps never and unlikely considering all the false starts in the last half a decade. Toney seemed to be realising that in the lead up to Lebedev and was serious about his weight. His injury meant that we had no idea what he had left, so it's another final chance. He really has to impress against Gunn and show output, snap and that his legs are not gone completely.
