Ok so who do you suggest he fights that will give him these wrinkles?

Remember the majority of his career was fought at 147 & 154, he only moved up because the Pavlik fight presented itself. I think Ward at 168 would give him problems but it's not really fair cause it's not Martinez' weight class.

I think Geale would be a good fight, but I see Martinez winning that one.

again... i've already addressed this question in a previous post on this thread. you sure you read thru it all?

who should he face to merit his worth? that's the problem, he will lose when he faces someone who's a 3 dimensional fighter. he just happens to be in a weak division...but that doesn't prove his superiority. it just means he's top dog on a pile of shit.

You haven't mentioned anyone who you think might cause Martinez problems.

Just saying that he is atop a pile of shit is pretty lame!

Do you think Geale is a good fighter? What about Cotto? If Floyd stays at 154 would he be ok? Golovkin? Pirog? Molina? Trout?

Theres talent there your just failing to see it...

look buddy... i just don't care to articulate myself farther than i already have.

i don't care how many people you're gonna ask me about. i don't care if you think my opinion is lame. i don't care if you think i'm over looking some gems in that shit pile...

i see evidence that martinez is fading.
    i believe he's in a shallow division.
    i believe he's overrated.

For starters I'm not your buddy!

All those things maybe true, Martinez may well be sliding, The divisions maybe shallow (although I think 154 is pretty good), & Martinez maybe overrated.

But saying the division(s) are a shit pile is very disrespectful to the fighters ranked in them. Have you ever fought? Doubt it! Do you know how much hard work goes into training for a fight? Thousands of fighters train their asses of & don't even get near being rated.

Now I asked you who you thought would trouble Martinez because I thought you might be able to debate like an adult, plus you said you wanted to see how he fares against top level opposition again & that he will lose when he meets a legit contender again, I merely wanted to know who you thought of as a legit contender in your opinion. This is after all a boxing site & if you don't want to discuss or share your opinions then whats the point of you being here?

Its not like he's fighting guys Mayorga & Margarito

Shhhh.... you're ruining the sarcasm here. The comment was tongue-in-cheek and directed at your "buddy", who thinks Sergio is slipping and who worships the ground Chavez Jr. walks on.

Matter of fact, I'm kinda hoping the Chavez camp feels the same way as your "buddy", and makes the match we're all waiting to see, before Sergio REALLY gets old and it becomes a moot point. I'd personally travel to wherever the fight was held just to see Chavez Jr. dumped on his ass by the "slipping" Martinez.

yeah... you should listen to CheatoFan and not spoil the beautiful moment you two have created..

my points again are: martinez is getting old and is slipping. he's overrated. his current division lacks depth to truely test him.

thats all. thanks for the fun boys.

Oh hell, it's YOU again. You just won't go away.

But that's what I'm saying, kid. Martinez IS getting old and IS slipping. And according to you, he's also overrated. So NOW'S the time to throw him in against Baby Chavez..... to fatten that false....er... I mean, wonderful record of his.

You give the baby regular BJ's. So when you come up for air, you may want to suggest the slipping Sergio as his next opponent.

    Glad to be of help.

He can't really think much of Chavez Jr? He has clearly stated that the division that Chavez is rated in is a pile of shit!

Stop winding up Rocco (and Tito).

It's alright.... I'll grudgingly grant him the "improving fighter" label, although I still severely dislike him.
