I guess the hands down head tucked in defense should be reserved for people with superb reflexes or iron chin, which I guess tonight we learned bute has neither....I definitely didn't see this happening, butes opposition hasn't been great but he had some ok names on there and made it look easy for the most paer, just wow and great performance by froch

Bute was showing some southpaw slick head movement and a glimpse of the left hand but Froch was so damned determined to impose himself with right hands that would make Jim Lampley loose his voice, he just took over the fight from round 3 buzzing Bute almost at will, Bute was all over the place from round 4 and just out on his feet in the 5th. Cracking fight ,so proud of Froch!!

I thought he hurt Froch a bit once or twice too, but it made absolutely no difference.

I'll admit i was way wrong but Froch was still beaten by Kessler, quite convincingly IMO although it was somewhat close. Also lets not forget Froch's own gift vs Dirrell, but good performance from Froch he's made Britain very proud.
IMO he lost to Dirrell and Ward quite clearly, but I think he edged Kesler 7-5. It was a close fight though.

I think he hammers Kesler in a rematch though.
Don't think i've watched Kessler since the Froch fight, how is he looking lately ? Froch was too cautious vs Kessler which is why i think he lost, if he starts like this though he could well revenge that loss.
Kess fought last weekend and got kded by green in first or second round but then turned it in gear and got him out in four or five candidate for ko of year imo, looked good and definitely would like to see kess and froch rematch

What a performance from the Cobra.

    He completely outclassed Bute.

I knew his aggression, toughness and workrate would cause Bute problems but no way did i see him being able to get to Bute so early in the fight. It was clear after the first couple of rounds that Froch's power was bothering Bute.

Bute's defense moreso than his chin was to blame. He took alot of hard shots and was able to weather the storm for the most part but Froch could literally not miss with his combinations and as rounds go on, you cannot afford to take shots like that from a puncher like Froch, simple as that.

Am I right in thinking that Bute has a rematch clause in the contract? Even in Canada I wouldn't think Bute would fancy it.

Froch looked better then I can ever recall seeing him look, he was in control almost the entire fight. His game plan must have been to go after Bute who had no answer for it. By the end of the 3rd round, the fight was just about over, by the 5th round Bute was toast.

Great performance by Froch, and another Super-middleweight title. Maybe that sack of shit, the SOG, will man up and give Carl a rematch in the UK. If Froch fights the way he did tonight, I like his chances against Ward in part II.

BTW, good job by Carl of proving all us "experts" who picked Bute (like me) wrong, you never can tell what's in a man's heart, or the fight that's left in the dog.

He does have a rematch clause but don't think hell excercise it anytime soon if ever...he'd do good for a minute of a round and then its as if froch said fuck it n battered him for second half of every round, don't know how bute could improve...

Bute was really looking for that counter left hand, and i thought early that he might land it, the way Froch was coming in. Got it twice at the end of the first, but nothing else. He really didn't seem to have an answer for a guy that came to win, brought the fight to him, and didn't let him pick his spots.

Yeah, but what's left for Bute other then a rematch in Canada? At this point, it's pretty much his main option, and he came back well from what was basically a loss to Andrade and KO'd him in the rematch.

I believe Bute underestimated Froch and gave him an advantage fighting him at home, a rematch in Montreal would be interesting.
