Rock Blackwell was born in 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland to Sandra and Duane Blackwell. Rock was a natural athlete and developed a passion for boxing at the early age of 7. As a child he already had his sites set on becoming a world champion boxer.

Rock began boxing at age 7 and compiled an incredible amateur record that included 156 amateur bouts, winning the South Atlantic Championship. Rock has only has one career blemish in May of 2009, due to life threatening levels of dehydration and suffering from a right hand injury. Rock dropped over 30 lb of water weight and cut pure muscle to make the 154 lb weight limit. Poor management and preparation by manager Isaac Birmingham of Birmingham Promotions.

Blackwell stayed active in the ring, making great progress, reinventing himself and moving into his proper weight class. Indeed, Blackwell is a force to be reckoned with in the super middle weight division. "The kid trains like a true champion, he's hungry" says former 3 time world champion Paul "The Punisher" Williams after a sparring session in Maryland. "Blackwell is a great orthodox boxer puncher with knockout power and amazing speed in both hands" says a Charlie Stanford; a New York sports writer. Blackwell have developed a reputation for his boxing prowess & explosive speed and punching power, becoming a very exciting fighter to watch. Rock has a great defense and the ability to unload very fast and accurate combinations, it's why many compare him to Adrien Broner and Andre Berto.

Fighting Internationally now, Rock is scheduled to fight for the NWEC super middle weight championship in late 2013 and will also seek to secure a NABC, NABA, or NABO super middle title. Rock Blackwell's charm along with his exciting fighting style and boxing prowess will no doubt bring star power to boxing and the entertainment world. No doubt this kid will soon become a multi-million dollar brand.

Rock will re enter the ring on February 2nd, 2013 in Europe. I'm looking forward to the future development of this kid, someday he will truly awe the boxing community.
