    Default Longshot fights

Reese vs broner has conjured up memories of other fighters that have made the trip accross the waters and not been given much of a chance.

Bruno vs tyson. Twice bruno fought the iron one and twice he got beat bad. Don king did give him two chances though..... Slim and none.

Dave boy green vs sugar ray leonard. Similar to reese vs broner in the fact green and reese had similar credentials apart from reese being a former world champ, but green would never gain that title as leonard chillingly took him out with a left hook, which by leonards own admission was the best punch he threw.

Michael Jennings vs miguel angel cotto. Lets be honest this must have been a far longer shot than reese has against broner. I felt for jennings though because the british media hardly wrote about the fight. The writing was on the wall and cotto sunk jennings in the 5th.

I wrote about brits who got beat as i think reese has the same fate. Good luck though gavin!

Just rewatched Crawford Ashley vs Michael Nunn for some reason. That was a thrashing but he fought his balls off and refused to go out.

    Remember Honeyghan/Curry or Napoles/Stracey too...

But the one I felt really sorry for though was the brave but limited Andy Holligan, who had the misfortune of being the last victim on Chavez's 'unbeaten' run...

That was the longest with a recorded book, as someone bet on Tyson big. But social shock wise, it was possibly either Corbett/Sullivan or Jeffries/Johnson.

Was Honeyghan a HUGE underdog? I know that fight is always brought up when discussing Brits going overseas.

What could it be compared to today? What would it be the equivalent to?

How was curry ranked at the time P4P?

According to the LA Times...Curry was "The best fighter, pound for pound, in the world today."

Curry was such a prohibitive favorite that there wasn't a betting line on the fight.

Benn was the favorite going in. Not Barkley
