Pianeta had never been beaten, never been hurt, never been down and people complain that Wlad stopped him in 6?!?! Jealous are we? Good on Pianeta for fighting hard, he's a cancer survivor and a seemingly decent dude. Povetkin won't last as long.

Floyd Mayweather Jnr is going to cop some shit in a few hours regardless of what he does and he's one of the best to lace up, like ever!

Its going to happen, it always does and we are all guilty of it.

Wlad did as Wlad does but Panchetta was several leagues out of his depth. He had one arm that worked kinda OK.

I dont think thats complaining. Thats just fact as I see it.

That's the difference between the old HW division and the current.

How long would it have taken Foreman or Tyson to stop this guy?
Possibly longer. Wlad has a higher KO ratio than Mike Tyson, many of Tyson's fights went the distance.

Pianeta had never been down before. Wlad has stopped more opponents who were never stopped before than any heavyweight champion in history.

Wlad has fought and beaten more southpaws than any other heavyweight I can recall.

Guys dont play that card please, you sound like Frank Warren trying to flog a Ricky Hatton opponent to Joe Bloggs back in the day 'Never been beat, knocked down etc etc'

He was toilet regardless of how nice a chap he is. He tried though, which is more than some can say.

Pianeta is a good guy but when your fighting a near 50 yr old Botha...you better NOT be getting dropped. Wlad hammered a nail, thats it. This was a gimme.

yes that is true :S turns out pianeta wasnt too great after all, but at least wladimir doesnt seem to be dodging anyone, he fought haye he will fight povetkin if he ever agrees to it :S, just got to stay busy sometimes, pianeta wasnt fat or old and he was in good shape so i dont have much of a problem with this fight

His next fight with Povetkin? Yes, I read about the $23M offer. However, for a defense such as Pianeta, how much does Wladimir make?

    Haye was saying 5-7 million.

Activity is great but 4 fights within a year...two looked at as complete stay payed...or stay busy showcases? I'm ok with quality over quantity. Really. We should hope all professional boxers come in reasonable quality shape but being qualified is another thing.

    This begs the question...

    #1 Who is qualified?

#2 Of those qualified fighters who is actually willing to fight Wladimir?

Also Wladimir is looking to break a record here man 14 title defenses, 11 more to go...so cut the guy some slack here, he wants to stay busy. Plus the Pianeta fight never would have happened had Povetkin just taken his beating like a man instead of ducking & dodging the inevitable!

It's a shame that the 2 best heavyweights in this era will never fight each other. If they ever did, I think people would give the winner a lot more credit and actually admit they could have competed and won bug fights in the 80's and 90's.
