    Default Word on the Streetz

Real Men of Saddoboxing and Vandetto,

Cotto coming to the Wild Cardz Gym to train with Freddy "the Coach" Roach.

    Thoughts?

It doesn't matter who is training him, Cotto is still on the decline.

True and yet he probably beats half or more of the top 15 at 154. He just cant deal with any kind of sustained lateral movement anymore.

Why he dumped Diaz and took Roach is puzzling although his history of musical trainers is well known.

Agreed. It happens to everyone, but I want to see how see how he does with his next opponent before I say he's finished fighting at the top.

At this stage it doesn't matter who trains him really, the only advantage is Roach is fairly calm and he'll need a calming influence if he gets in trouble again. Massive Cotto fan but I'm not convinced he has it at the very top level any more.

I haven't ever been a fan, just something about him that I've never liked.

I thought cotto was doing well with his trainer and there was no need to change. He was getting the very best out of him.

Cotto hasn't been the same since Margarito took his virginity but him leaving Pedro Diaz was basically a career suicide. Some people just dont know what's best for them. smh

Cotto has always been known as a lazy fighter in the gym, often times training himself, and he dont have enough discipline.

IN a perfect world, he should be fighting at 140-147 and down there, he would have accomplished alot more but because he didnt wanna train, he's now a blown up 154 fighting with his talent alone.

I don't know, I still like to see Cotto. Seems like a decent guy, I like how he handled himself going into the Floyd fight. I guess this move just shows he is not ready to give it up. I agree he is on the decline and I don't know how this move might help but what the hell, if he wants to try something new and keep going, give it a whirl

I feel that Miquel has left his best in the past now for a few years! I understand his desires to move on but its an old story told by so many guys who love to compete!
If he fights an opponent thats on the move than Freddy will be a good addition but the bottom line is he may find out more about himself working at the Wild Card! I'm hoping he gets this fight in against a mover and then walks away! This guy has been a very entertaining fighter so some time now and no one steam rolls him. Very proud fighter who gets everything out of his abilities!!!!
Good luck to Cotto, he deserves health and happiness! Ray.
