Should Beltran ask for a rematch with Burns? And how do you think it would go?

i think if beltran's promoter were even able to get burn's promoter on the phone he'd hear a dial tone before the question fully came out his mouth.

and no i don't think he should ask for one. the WBO should call a rematch.

beltran doesn't need to officially beat burns, eveyone knows he kicked burn's ass.

I'd like to see a rematch but we don't know how long burns is going to be out for with the broken jaw and titanium plates he's had to have fitted, tho he lost that fight big time last night it may be a different story nxt time around

What fight was the american judge watching I had Beltran four points up, Burns should fight him in the US for the rematch.

Yeah they should definitely have a rematch. Burns nearly got robbed through a broken jaw. No fighter deserves to lose their title through injury.

Yes unless burns goes for a unification fight he has to do the rematch and it can only happen in Scotland the fight would struggle to sell anywhere else. I'm a big burns fan but I had Beltran wining by 2 points it wasn't as bad a decision as people are saying but he did lose and was very lucky to keep his belt, that judge who scored the fight 3 points to burns fuck sake now that's what you call terrible he should be punished for that. Last two outings burns has looked bad he needs to really up him game next time out.

I think so, as draw was fair.

Noones giving Ricky credit for any sort of boxing.

he was against the ropes blocking punches, I don't score those punches for Beltran, and Ricky was catching beltran with straights when he came forward to pound him on the ropes, Rick was also getting in sneak little hooks on the way out.

I'm sorry but I ain't scoring beltrans 10 punch combos if they hit his arm.

Besides the fact that Ricky survived almost 11 rounds with such a badly broken jaw just says wonders about his bravery, he should have been given the win for that alone lol.

There should be a return and probably in the US to be fair but if Beltran couldn't beat an injured Burns I don't see him beating an uninjured one next time

YES!!! Beltran came up for that fight. You can tell he trained his arse off. He came to take that title. It was a poor draw. He should have won that fight 115-113 on all cards. Shame!! But, we have seen worse.

Should they end up having a rematch I can't see Beltran hearing the final bell if Burns puts it on him every round, like he did in round one before his injury. Who knows ? Beltran may be the one to dominate the early rounds if Burns returns cautious after his Jaw is wired up.

I like Ricky and was cheering for him but I'm not sure I buy the early injury. I cant remember but his jaw issue seemed to come up in round 8 or 9. Beltran was not phased by his shots and deserves an immediate rematch after Rickys jaw heals.

I don't know why he would say immediately after the fight that he felt it in round two if that was not the case. A clean break like that has got to hurt and It would explain his uncharacteristic performance for the following ten rounds. I don't suppose we will ever know for sure.

if ricky cant fight for a year then Beltram should get first dibs on the vacant title

if ricky can come back before then the Beltram should be the opponent

I think there is a need for a rematch but Burns needs to get the jaw fixed and that could take up to a year. Beltran needs to earn a living and cannot wait for a fight that long. Maybe they give him an opportunity for the interim belt whilst the champion is out of action.
