Default Curtis Stevens vs. Peter Quillin?

Compelling match-up, yes? It would be pretty big in Brooklyn. At least worthy of a number two on a Danny Garcia card. I might pick Stevens in that fight even. It's pretty close in any event.

The first bomb wins lol. You know the way Quillin used movement and footwork
I actually think Stevens takes him out of there.

It'd be a nice fight, but a bad one for Quillin to take at this stage, he's not going to do one better than Golovkin and he could even lose. Quillin can do backflips on command and leap over cars, yet he has trouble bending his knees at all in the ring or moving well, it's weird to me.

Quillin wins he is a classier fighter.

Only a bit though, and he's easy to hit. It's honestly closer to a pick em fight imo, just doesn't make much sense for Quillin.

Someone calling Quillin a classy fighter is going off his rec and not his performances. Looked poor very poor against Rosado and Ndam. Hes not a legit champ and doubt he beats any of the genuine challengers at middleweight. Would like to see him in against Murray

CLASSIER than Stevens and Quillan would certainly beat Murray.

I dont know. Apart from his power he hasnt much going for him. I think Murray could take his power. Quillin would be favorite here but Murray has a good chance. Depends where it is though - Brooklyn Murray has no chance, you see those cards for the Rosado fight??

Big Dog, didn't you suggest in a past thread about the GGG-Stevens fight that Stevens had a decent shot against GGG because GGG had no defense? If so, why do you think he has no shot against Quillin? I think he showed some skills against GGG. He isn't in the same class, but he's not bad. Plus, there's the whole Brooklyn thing.

That's funny. I never thought about that. Dude seriously does have ordinary movement (at best).

I think very poor is a stretch and I don't buy as has been thrown around that a Rosado was outboxing Quillin. Rosado was doing alot of one & done and shucking and jiving in spots.

On a match I think Quillin would do a number on Stevens who is as predictable as they come and left hooks off the jab would have him in a bad way. Golovkin in my eyes made the fight more difficult as once he got the KD he just wanted to punish Stevens and got away from his jab. Findley was an indicator to what a Golovkin was going to do to him, bull him to ropes, get him square and make him over commit when he actually did throw hooks. Stevens has thump but its been showcased against guys who were brought in for it. Quillin by tko.

i would have to pick quillin but stevens would be a live dog. just like GGG, i think that quillin would need to use his range and refrain from trading punches which i think he would do.

I thought Kid Choc would steam roll Rosado and I was wrong. I don't think it's fair to say that he would steam roll Stevens now as a result.

I did make that statement and Stevens did do better than most people expected..

BUt unlike GGG, QUillin is a rangey fighter and uses distance.. Stevens is so short I have hard time seeing him getting inside within punching range.

People think less of QUillin now because he failed to destroy Rosado but then he could look like a killer against Stevens .. Then some people are going to start questioning why GGG couldnt look as good against a common opponent.

My point is common opponents dont mean anything but I think QUillin would beat Stevens easily.
