Of course Joe looked a bit clumsy when he got started.
He was a 'southpaw' that was converted to the orthodox stance.
And he originally got into to boxing to lose weight, not to make it a career.
Joe's weight was up to 230 lbs. when he was a teenager.
Did not know he was a southpaw.
That is what the so-called Boxing Experts said.
But, Joe wrote with his right-hand.
Some of the early Joe followers said, that Joe fought from the southpaw stance
because he was never taught proper technique when he first got started.
When I started boxing I naturally went to a southpaw stance because I wanted my right hand (which is the strongest) to jab people in the face. I was told I should go orthodox and developed a brilliant (Ike Quartey/Thomas Hearns/Mike McCallum) jab with my left.
You should have, a jab like that would be a thing of beauty. Your shorts were awesome though.
