I love analogies in boxing; they’re my favourite. They’re probably why I find Teddy Atlas tolerable and maybe even why I pretty much regard him as a God amongst men lol.

Analogies in general are good for boxing. Generally, I find that if you can get someone thinking abstractly, then you’ve got them thinking outside of the box, which is only beneficial
I wondered if any of you have any analogies that you’ve heard, or even coined, that you thought were pretty cool.

I’ll start:

Hitting your opponent, is like breaking and entry – you need to plan your route.

Imagine your entering a house; You need to know where the front door is and where the back door is. Are you going out the back window, is it safe? Are you raiding one room, or are you going to try and get to all of the rooms? If so, think about laying some traps because chances are you’re not going to make it out undetected.
