how heavy should my heavy bag be?

i am new and i am tryin to increase the power of my punches. i've been told that hitting a heavy bag helps alot, is this true? and if it is how heavy a bag should i buy? i am thinkin 70 lbs, is that enough?

100 pounds at least

if you're gonna box/fight anyone, they're gonna weigh more than 100 pounds guaranteed
so why not practice punching something that is at least 100
i prefer 150 pounds but that's a bit more advanced so i recommend starting with a 100 pounder

My first heavy bag was 50 pounds. And what i would do is, whenever the bag was feeling soft to me, i would go and buy a heavier one. My current one is 150. But if you dont wanna spend all your money up do what imagine said, and stick with it.
