Is it just me or is there a lack of boxing at the moment? It seems to be ages since I watched a live fight and all we are talking about here is Earnie Shavers and the superfight that never happens. Where are the fights? What's happening?

Next week ggg then fortnight tyson fury.
Yes, I have been going through boxing withdraw a bit. Glad Friday night fights are back. I will be happy when Showtime and HBO get hot again.
I can't wait to see what iron Mike productions does. They claim there whole business model is to make boxing more accessible and main stream. Hope it happens.
Did someone say Shavers, is this a Shavers thread, cool.
If GGG is not fighting Brockton Blockbust then I am not interested. Only a James Toney comeback can save boxing now.
The most irritating thing to me is no fights for weeks, then more cards than you can watch on the same day!
It makes me want to kick some ass, or think about it anyway. Lol
Smith v Abraham is on the 21st Feb so same night as GGG v Murray
Both free - Smith on Sky Sports 3 and GGG on Channel 5.
Shame though as 2 potentially very good fights and i think they might clash as ones in Germany and the other in Monte Carlo so there wont be much between them time wise.

Believe it or not - Boxing is not exclusively an American sport.

It's all been held up waiting for Haymon's various TV contracts to start and Mayweather fannying about. These two things have delayed negotiations for just about every big fight going. Other than the Golovkin fight which isn't going to be much or the Fury fight which is the same thing there are basically three empty weekends before any decent fights on the telly.
Once Floyd decides who he's going to fight the schedule should start filling up but there's basically been Wilder-Stiverne and Rios-Alvarado so far this year, both of which were underwhelming to say the least.
How bad must boxing be if we want to see Shavers make a comeback?
GGG on channel 5 free TV is good to see.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Showtime's Super Six Tournament proved that. Next to no one in America even remembers it-bar a few Ward fans. Kudos to Showtime for pitting the best SMW's on earth together. They tried.
Froch & Kessler fans seemed to revel in it, while American fans poo-pood on how long it took. Jeesh, who else was there worth fighting? We now know Bute would've been blitzed & America's backups of Green & Johnson diluted the skilled pool of talent.
If Super-six couldn't excite America, I really don't know what would. P.S. The Super-Six tourney I went to- 1/2 the arena was empty- I got 8th row a week before the fight.
