    I actually saw smokin Bert Cooper from a distance of about 30 feet as he was coming out of the Red Brick Gym in East Newark New Jersey in about 1997 ..
    that mofo was high as a kite and looked a very dangerous man

    Where does the idea he was 6'9" come from?

    Boxrec has him 6'5" and 1/2, Wikipedia has him 6'6.

    Back in the day newspaper accounts

    Nearly everyone lists Primo at { 6' 6" } in the 'Tale of the Tape'

    Time Magazine {October 5, 1931}
