Default Kell Brook vs. Diego Chaves in Sheffield on October 24th

Kell Brook-Diego Chaves Clash in Play For Oct. 24 - Boxing News

I think Eddie has struggled big time to get an opponent over here for lesser money and who will agree to a rematch clause so this is what they end up with. Chaves is tough, but it'll look bad on Kell if he struggles with him considering Thurman stopped him and Bradley was robbed in a draw with him.

Chavez is tough, but Kell Brook is a World Champion and nothing less than a convincing victory will do. His standard of opponents is getting slowly better, but not quick enough so that people will gradually start to forget how good his victory over Porter in his own country was. He can't live on that forever.
If Brook gets through this, his next fight MUST be Thurman, Bradley or Pacquiao. If it's Khan, so be it, but I'm fucking bored with all that rubbish already.
It's not just Brook I'm getting at here, it's all the top WW's. When Floyd retires, these guys all have to step up to the plate and start fighting
    each other.

They all seem scared to lose in fear of dropping down the pecking order and missing an opportunity to cash in on a Mayweather or Pacquiao fight.

    Well said Primo.

Im sick of all this bollocks as well.

Fight each other and stop waiting on floyd.

Force floyd through your work by beating everyone.

Lets get a super 6 for the 147 division..

    Khan
    Garcia
    Bradley
    Thurman
    Brook
    Porter

    (Pac or broner)

If Eddie can't afford to get Rios over here - when they have PPV lined up - then Brook might need to go back across the pond before getting a major fight. Unless Khan stops swerving him of course.

This is a good fight but he won't get the credit he should if he wins.

    Agree totally.

I'm hearing Khan/Thurman is now getting heated up. One last ditch effort to get number 50 I suppose in his mind even though imo the Mayweathers didn't and don't want anything to do with him. At least now he can claim to save face that while he was jawing with Thurman, Brook was fighting his leftovers.

Agreed. Better still, Involve Pac and Broner and make it a straight knockout, quarter finals, semis and Final!

Khan - Brook will happen if they keep on winning but it won't happen until next summer. Between now and then expect more of the same in terms of level of competition.

Brook-Chaves is a good fight. It's not as good as the Porter fight though, especially after seeing Porter thrash Broner. Brook needs a fight with Bradley or Thurman. He beats both.

It really is interesting. Some of the deepest talent in a few years and everyone is finding ways not to fight each other. I can see Brook and Khan actually waiting out the need to fight or the public's interest in seeing it.

    We get

    Thurman/Paulie
    Brook/Chaves
    Bradley/Rios
    Khan/who knows
    Floyd/Berto

Its pathetic when one really thinks about it.

Realistically the Khan fight isn't going to happen until next summer now anyway if they want it to be a stadium fight so i'm happy with this match up. It's a harder fight than Rios.

The point is - the big names wont come over here for Brook because they're all currently on 7-figure purses for "doddles" in the States.

Brook's only realistic current big fight is Khan.

So why on earth does Brook not just get over to America and fight some names? Go for the money, the glory, and come back home when all is conquered. Name fighters are simply not going to want to come to the UK. The UK has bad weather, early stoppages, and infamous fights like Khan/Barrera. Fighters only get tempted when their careers are slipping (Toney) or they think the British fighter is shot (Calzaghe/Lacy). Might as well just get out there to the states and beat them all up.

I thought Alexander had lined up a fight with Chaves?

Not the top shelf sort of opponent for Brook but a solid opponent none the less.

I think it is a bit of a risky fight for Brook, chaves is fairly good but not really that famous and only has 1 win out of his last 4, I don't think he'd win but I think theres a good chance he could make Brook look bad especially if he uses his dirty tactics :S.
