There is James DeGale at 168, who is coming off a big win against the only other top super middleweight that Ward hadn't beat, Andre Dirrell. If Ward was going to remain at 168, that would be the fight to make.
If Ward moves up to 175 and beats the man in the division, it's a huge statement. Nothing else to say.
What fights has Ward not got? Why would signing with Al Haymon have got him fights? With all the fighters Haymon has under his stable, why have there been so few great fights on PBC? What fights would Ward get if he signed with PBC? And how many years would we have to wait while he fought tune-ups before he faced another good challenge?
Agreed. I always thought about GGG that he shouldn't jump up right into Ward at 168. He should take a fight or two first to see how he handles the weight gain. Same with Ward. I heard Virgil Hunter say the same thing about Ward.
