Like most fighters who have quit like that, I'm sure he'd give anything to have a do over and go out on his shield instead, but that's life.

I was very disappointed in hearing him trying to justify his decision with his inexperience and the fact that he came up in weight. At one point he even seemed to be blaming HBO and/or Top Rank, accusing them of keeping Vasyl busy and keeping him on the shelf for a year. When you are fighting at the championship level, people don't want to hear this nonsense. The bar has already been set by past greats. Ray Leonard came back from a 3 year retirement and moved up two divisions to fight one of the best/scariest middleweights of all time... and he pulled out the W. That's what championship heart is.

Getting away from negative though, WOW was I impressed with Vasyl. He's got to be one of the greatest boxing talents I've ever seen.
I've never boxed in my life & I wouldn't have the balls to get into a boxing ring to fight someone, but it disappointments me when world class professional fighters just quit when the going gets tough.

Walters did himself no favours whatsoever, but on the flipside, he lives to fight another day, providing his doesn't quit again!

Walters is a quality fighter but I sense he was not happy with his fee and was not going to go out of his way to win the fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
