Default Emanuel Steward to Co Train Jermain Taylor

Ozell Nelson, advisor to undisputed middleweight champion, Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor has informed Boxingtalk.com that legendary trainer Emanuel Steward will assist the formidable Pat Burns in preparing the undefeated champion for his June 17 showdown against master boxer Winky Wright. Sources from Detroit have also confirmed this information to us as well. More to follow, until then

I think it's a terrible idea, a fighter should have one guy as boss and thats it, especially one as fickle and unstable as jermain taylor, nevermind how good manny or pat are. This is a potential disaster for jermanin.

unstable or not, I don't think its a good idea personally but maybe they can make it work. You need one voice in the corner IMO.

I think it can only be beneficial as far as devising a winning strategy against one of the hardest puzzles in boxing (Winky's defense) and as long as their egos don't clash it should work out ok. Its when you get people like Yoel Judah or Jeff Fenech in the corner that don't statagize to much but basically just love the sound of their own voice that x2 can't work.

That will mess up Taylor's jab. Taylor need to stand in a crouch to deliver his jab with efficiency, its the way he fights. If Manny teaches him how to fight upright it's going to mess up the base of his style.

Taylor should definetly not dispense the jab I think his jab will be the deciding factor in this fight coz Winky's arsenal is his jab and his defense, so taylor has to land his jab over winky's to nulify it.
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
