yeah he just beat some guy on FNF, recently..and the winky fight was closer than you imply...i actually wouldn't have called it a robbery had they declared it a draw....he cause both side of winky's cheeks to swell..when was the last time someone did that to winky....

There was no way that fight was a draw, or even as close as the scorecards had it.. Soliman gave it a shot but really, Winky almost tripled his landed punches and threw well under a third total. The punch stats were just embaressing, and Soliman was all over the place multiple times. Sure it's his style but when a guy is getting knocked all over the place after taking punches then obviously Winky was the one doing the real damage. He beat him in every single exchange and was never even bothered.

You need to pull tape & watch that fight again.

Throwing punches does not equal landing punches.

    Soliman threw a boatload...over 1250 I believe...but his connect % was laughable.

As awkward as he is...he wasn't that effective at the end of the day.

It would have been criminal if that fight had been considered a draw. Wright won that fight by a pretty good margin.

Wacko is exactly right. There have been a surprising number of people on here who seem to think that fight was close--it wasn't.

As to what Soliman SHOULD do next: how about competitive jump-roping, or something else where his stamina will be rewarded and he won't need to actually land a punch?

    I didn't say that he didn't land a punch.

One punch can make your face swell...I guess you knew that though.

I don't think the Wright fight was close either,I think the fans just saw someone throwing allll those punches and thought/presumed they were landing, which is why anyone would think it was close but like Wackster said, check out the ratio which Soliman landed at,it was poor! Also, kudos to Winky for taking the fight, winning comfortably all whilst he was very ill!

Well if your boy didnt have freakishly long arms then soliman would of won! Im gonna start a petition for this decision to be over turned! Winky was using winky arms which is a known fact that they are longer then usual arms and make blocking easier. Im calling the NSAC

At the time I was watching it on a crappy stream but i've since seen it on a better picture, and winky really impressed me with his savvy and movement, he was lacklustre for sure, but he sure as hell won.

I think Soliman's a great guy, 1 of the hardest working boxers in the world today, maybe ever. He's cheerful and has a great attitude. His conditioning is already legendary. However, I just can't bring myself to like his style. It's unique to say the least, but it isn't 100% clean. He's just about the only fighter I know that clinches regularly, around 5 to 10 times per round on average from what I've seen, but who almost always breaks out of the clinches on his own. His clinches are not the really bad ones where he ties up a guy's arms, he just wraps his arms around a guy's body for 1 or 2 seconds and then lets go. I've never seen anything like it. For sure it drives some guys nuts, since they've never had a guy move in and out, come at them from all different angles, and grab them for a second or 2 only to release and then throw more punches. It didn't quite work against Winky Wright's great defence but he gave Winky a good fight, a better one than Trinidad did, who I think is a far better fighter than Soliman. Soliman was about as competitive against Wright as Shane Mosley was, and that's saying something.
