They are two very different things.
Yes i'm a fighter but I would've thought that by getting stronger getting bigger came with the package? Strength is what im looking for as it is for my fighting
Im intruged to hear what you do if thats the case

I read every word of it.

And try reading my post properly and save the dikshit stuff for off topic threads. Not everyone in boxing only wants to get stronger and not bigger. For some, and I think you would understand this being a hard gainer, adding weight with strength/muscle is the goal. As stated in my first line, I was addressing the thread title, then providing my back story. The OP can take from the thread what he wants, and hopefully it is many perspectives.

This is a boxing training forum and we all come with differing views and approaches, goals. I hope we don't all agree on every topic, otherwise we are likely to often be wrong following one path like sheep.

    So yea, that.

No need to get all pissy about it, i was kidding. Just because its not off topic doesnt mean we cant have a bit of fun.

You started your post with this:
"Going by the title, I will assume he wants to add weight as well as strengthen."
He stated that he doesnt want to bulk, he was confused.

Thats why i said read the thread. So relax a bit buddy, its only the interwebs.

lol well he didn't decide anything, he said he would like to hear more. He started the thread wanting to know about gaining/bulking and Rocky told him he doesn't want that. That just isn't always true. Often, but not always. Some people are proper skinny runts and need to bulk, and I know as I myself was in that category.

So I provided info. and have lots more for him if he wants it.

And I'm always chill wesrman, ol' buddy.

I say I want to bulk because when I see myself I believe im too thin to pack a strong hit in my boxing and was looking for ways to get bigger until someone mentioned going off the whole weight thing and turning to pure strength. My knowledge on workouts is pretty limited (wasn't really sure what I was looking to do) so I came on here looking for a range of suggestions so thanks for all the input
Gaining strength is my main objective for obvious reasons but being 6"3 my arms etc are very thin/skinny so im taking all into account (boxing is only a small part of my life)

    Thanks

Doesn't really work that way but if you do lighter weights and more reps I guess it will do more toning but eventually you grow muscle and bulk up a bit and the best way to keep from getting "musclebound" is to stretch before and after working out.

If your a fighter, then bulk is a REAL four letter word to you. there are a lot of great programs out there for fighters, but ive never heard of them advicating bulking programs. try things like crossfit, ross boxing, or muscle confusion techniques. ive got a buddy that puts up free training videos on youtube and myspace he works for underground fight channel, and trains boxers and mma fighters in rogers arkansas, you might check him out (aaron kimball). but stay away from weightlifter forums, and bodybuilders, they are not fighters!!!!

    Ya it works that way.

Many people get stronger without adding weight. Olympic lifters do it all the time, and ive done it many times.

If you dont eat more calories than you burn, you wont gain weight. But you can still be getting stronger while maintaining a certain weight or close to it.

If you add muscle you add weight...you can strengthen muscles only so much before gaining more weight unless you overtrain and then you lose weight....I fell victim to overtraining and dropped 46 pounds in a matter of maybe 1 1/2-2 months....but I wasn't stronger on account of how much weight I dropped

You can get stronger without adding a lot of muscle or weight.

    Ever tried isometrics??

I guess just doing pushups and pullups and maybe swimming would help but I've never had to do that type of training, I just worked on speed and explosive power and right now just staying in shape which just means a shit ton of cardio

Lots of cardio. Run 4 miles a day. Low carb diet.

4 sets of sit ups everyday. Do 50, 5 minute rest in between.

Losing weight and keeping it off is never a fast process unless something is wrong with you or you're doing something that hurts your body.

Running, swimming, lots of cardio...loads of crunches, sit ups, hanging ab-strap workouts and changing your diet around will help you lose weight and tone up
