    Default man beats machine

hi guys, tonight in australia anthony "the man" mundine completely outclassed danny"the machine " green in a unamoius points decision victory.

his lightning speed frustrated green all night and apart from the first round green was never in the hunt.

anythony mundine looked awesome and has improved so much since he last fought mikkel kessler,a rematch looms against kessler and mundine in my opinon will do the same to mikel kessler what he did to green tonight.kessler has already beaten mundine but mundine is by far a better boxer/athlete now then he was at that time.

every single person on here will say kessler will win easy but i guarantee you he wont, mundine will win on points.mundine is a superior athlete, has superior speed and skills.

    cheers guys,top forum.

I do hope there'll be a Kessler-Mundine II made and I don't think by any means it's gonna be a walkover for Kessler.
You talk about Mundine being much improved from their last outing. Personally I wanna see how much better Kessler will be next time around - if this time around he's injury free and in better physical condition.
I expect Kessler would be the one to show the most improvement.

As for Mundine being the the superior athlete - possibly.
Mundine the faster man - agreed, though not by much. Even less so against a fully fit Kessler.
Mundine the better skilled - I don't think so. Kessler has excellent skills. Thats why he won last time despite being in a bad shape and being the slower of the two.

In any case. A fight i'd love to see. If Kessler can't make fights with Calzaghe, Beyer or maybe Lacy happen - then there's still not a more meaningfull fight for him at 168 than Mundine. Especially if we're talking an improved Mundine.
    Hope it happens soon.

you make some good points mate,i do still think mundine has the most improvement in him,he had no amatuer career and only started boxing in the year 2000.

the only way to improve is too keep fighting and kessler has had a lot more fights in his life then mundine.

Kessler gonna have some trouble if mundine fights like he did last night....i havent seen anyone see punches coming and evade them like he did. I know people hate it when mundine compares himself to ali.....but at some stages he showed ali like evasion on the ropes. He would just lean back and get out of the way of the punch and counter.

The big difference between Green and Kessler was Kesslers ability to land a jab on Mundine and time his movement. Green couldn't land a jab to set up his power shots or land lead rights on Mundine the way Kessler did despite having a similar reach advantage. He hardly hit Mundine in the head with anything powerful and never caught him flush.

If Mundine wants to beat Kessler he'll have to roll the dice and engage him more than he did last time and not think an honorable defeat is good enough.

I'd like to see him fight Calzaghe. It's as good a fight as some of the other bullshit matchups that have been mentioned for Joe (Manfredo, Roy Jones etc) and Mundine fights always make money in Australia. Interested to see how Mundine will cope with someone as quick and skilled as Calzaghe as he's used to being so much better athletically.
