Boxing In Canada: Lemieux KO’s Camacho In Montreal

By Danny Wilson October 30th, 2010 All Boxing Results

One of the biggest punchers in boxing was in action last evening as middleweight David Lemieux lit up the Montreal night with a sparkling KO of Hector Camacho Jr at The Casino.

Just 21 years of age, Lemieux came into the contest having knocked out all but one of 23 previous opponents but had never crossed swords with an adversary as experienced as Camacho.

The bout began with the taller Lemieux connecting with a hard right that Camacho immediately countered with a sharp left hook that seemed to surprised the Canadian.

But that was where Camacho's run of success ended as Lemieux managed to close distance and start landing rights to the head and body before a point blank short right caused Camacho to grab hold to keep from falling over. More...

M'baye runs his record to 39-3-1 (21) and is now in line to meet the winner of the upcoming WBA title clash between champion Vyacheslav Senchenko and challenger Charlie Navarro. More...

By Danny Wilson October 4th, 2009 All Boxing Results

The Casino in Montreal was the site of a good show on Saturday as welterweight Antonin Decarie came through his latest WBO NABO title challenge and middleweight David Lemieux once again provided fistic fireworks.

Decarie retained his title for the fourth time by dramatically stopping veteran American southpaw Terrance Cauthen with just one second left in the tenth and final round.

Cauthen tried to keep a lid on Decarie with constant clinching during the bout but was canvassed in the eighth before going down for the second time during the closing seconds of the tenth. More...

Boxing In Canada: Urango Defeats Ngoudjo To Win IBF Crown

By Richard Eberline January 31st, 2009 All Boxing Results

There was action North of the border last night as Juan Urango regained the IBF Light Welter title with a wide points decision over local favorite Herman Ngoudjo at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Colombian southpaw Urango came out of the gates firing on all cylinders and by the second had struck paydirt, battering his Cameroon born opponent to the canvas twice in the second round.

From that point on, Ngoudjo avoided close combat with Urango and tried to box his way to victory but couldn't find a way to dictate the pace.

Urango proved just too strong and durable to be bothered by the faster handed Montreal man and cruised to a 120-106, 118-108 and 116-110 points verdict after twelve rounds.

The 28 year old Miami resident has now won four straight and once again wears the IBF belt, two years after losing it to Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas. More...

By Richard Eberline May 4th, 2008 All Boxing Results

GYM Promotions put on a good show last night at The Casino in Montreal and their prospects all walked away with victories in important bouts.

Welterweight Antonin Decarie, 19-0 (5), had a tough fight with previously unbeaten Ohio man Brian "The Golden Greek" Camechis, 17-1 (8), but moved forward steadily behind the jab to outwork the American.

Decarie had Camechis down in the fourth with a bodyshot but the visitor rebounded to canvas the local man in the fifth with a crisp counter left hook, although it was incorrectly ruled a slip.

After twelve rounds, Decarie won a unanimous decision 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112 to annex the vacant WBO NABO Welterweight crown.

Light welter Dierry Jean, 13-0 (9), got the best win of his career by knocking out durable Mexican Henry Arjona, 17-11-1 (11), in the sixth. More...
