The second annual Trad TKO Boxing Gym Boxers and Celebrity Charity Football Tournament, in aid of the Indee Rose Trust, which took place at Concord Rangers FC in Canvey Island on Sunday 14th August, proved to be a massive success, having raised in excess of £18,000 on the day, with a further £3,000 being pledged on-line for the worthy cause that supports children that have been diagnosed with brain or spinal tumors. WBA International Super Bantamweight Champion Rendall Munroe is set to dump his gloves, albeit temporarily, and lace up his boots and take part in the upcoming Tr TKadO Boxing Gym Boxers and Celebrity Charity Football Tournament, in aid of the Indee Rose Trust, at Concord Rangers FC, in Canvey Island, Essex on Sunday 14th August 2011.

Rendall shot to fame in 2008 following his sensational, against the odds, victory over then European champion Spaniard Kiko Martinez. Rendall defended his European crown six times, as well as added the Commonwealth title to his collection in May 2009. More...

World Champ Nathan Cleverly is the latest star to sign up for the Trad TKO Boxing Gym Boxers and Celebrities Charity Football Tournament, in aid of the Indee Rose Trust, which takes place at the Concord Rangers FC in Canvey Island, Essex on Sunday 14th August 2011.

Nathan, who became the Light Heavyweight World Champion in May this year after a fourth round stoppage of Poland’s Aleksy Kuziemski, spoke briefly about his taking part in the tournament. More...

Thursday night, at the Park Hotel, Sheffield (Chesterfield), Richard Poxon hosted a ‘sell-out’ Charity Fund-raising Fight-night and Dinner show. The 3-card event featured local Sheffield boxers and raised money for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

The main event saw Adam ‘The Bomber’ Etches make short work of Bobby Wood of Walsall in a scheduled 4-round Middleweight Contest. With big crowd support Etches confidently started the opener and - landing a body-shot – looked delighted to see Wood take to his knee. Wood was counted out while rising to his feet – by Referee Michael Alexander mid-way through the first round. A quick finish for a jubilant Etches!

Etches improves to 4 wins (3 by KO), while Wood drops to 4 wins 9 losses (4 by KO).

Debutant ‘Hot Shot’ Scott Jenkins had a testing first outing against experienced ‘Dirty’ Dan Carr of Trowbridge in their Lightweight Contest. Referee Alexander was kept busy administering warnings and Carr sustained a nick to the forehead mid-way through the contest. Carr dips low and Jenkins targets with lefts and rights to the head. A messy fight at times but a good win for the new pro.

Jenkins notches up his first pro-win on points 40-36.

Carr drops to 1 win 16 losses (1 by KO).

Light-Heavyweight - Carl Wild faced late opponent Elvis Dube of Derby. Shinfields boxer – Dube, landed notable uppercuts to his taller opponent in the first round. Both men work in close during the second and Dube uses the uppercut again with Wild throwing the left and right to the head. A bit of a scrap followed in the remaining rounds with ‘Born 2 B’ Wild securing the points win 40-37.

Wild improves to 10 wins (1 by KO) 15 losses (4 by KO) and 3 draws, while Dube drops to 3 wins (2 by KO) 10 losses (2 by KO).

A great night-out for attendees! With Ricky Hatton, MBE, and Ryan Rhodes (just back from Mexico) putting in an appearance, aswell as Former Football Stars - Chris Waddle and John Sheridan.

Esteemed boxing manager and trainer Johnny Eames is making an appeal for support, from the public and the boxing community, for a charity run at Central Park, Dagenham, this coming Sunday, the 7th November, in aid of five year old cancer sufferer Mitchell Huth.

Mitchell, who is the cousin of famous boxing brothers Kevin and Vinny Mitchell, was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer and is currently undergoing treatment at Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital in London.
