Wednesday night at the Aviator Sports Arena in Brooklyn, NY, was the second night in only five days that Sal Musumeci’s Final Forum hosted a televised professional boxing card this time in association with Star Boxing.

The ESPN broadcast of "Wednesday Night Fights" featured an action packed main event with Ali Oubaali from Brooklyn, New York against Chris Fernandez of Salt Lake City .

In the main event, Oubaali threw nearly 100 punches per round against the game Fernandez, who gave as good as he got. Both fighters rarely clinched or held and preferred to exchange heavy shots throughout the bout.

Oubaali clearly got the better of the exchanges landing an incredible amount of shots to the body. On at least three occasions, it seemed as if Fernandez was about to drop to a knee or go down from the shots to the body but he would take a deep breathe and come back swinging. More...

Exclusive Boxing Interview: Darrel Madison

By Jim Everett May 30th, 2008 All Boxing Interviews

Sweet Science Events will be hosting an exciting night of boxing tonight, May 30 at Moticello Raceway, Monticello, NY. In the main attraction, Darrel “King David” Madison, 9-1 (3), will face veteran Zuri Lawrence, 23-13-4, for the vacant New York State Heavyweight Title.

After a good amateur career, Madison had his first professional fight in November of 2006 and did what any new prospect should do, he fought four and six round fights facing other new prospects. Over the last year and a half, he stayed busy and fought ten times, facing opponents that had up to eight professional fights.

While some fighters talk about stepping up their level of competition, Madison means what he says. When he steps into the ring tonight, he will face a veteran that has five times the professional ring experience of anyone he has ever faced and who has also been in the ring with past heavyweight champions, contenders and Olympians.

SaddoBoxing had the pleasure of speaking with Madison to talk about his big opportunity and what he has been doing to prepare for his first eight-round main event title fight. More...

Boxing In Germany: Arslan Keeps WBA Title Against Wilson

By Hermann Helmut May 4th, 2008 All Boxing Results

Stuttgart's Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle saw WBA Cruiserweight Champion Firat Arslan retain his title for the first time last night with a complete shut out of challenger Darnell Wilson.

Arslan, 29-3-1 (18), proved last November's title winning effort against the evergreen Virgil Hill was no fluke as he took a few rounds to sort out Wilson, 23-7-3 (20), and then comfortably outboxed the American the rest of the way, 117-111 on all three scorecards.

A powerful puncher, Wilson had made something of a name for himself over the last year by vigorously calling out the cruiserweight world champions in the media but failed to deliver once in the ring with skilled southpaw Arslan, who hasn't lost since January, 2004 over the course of 11 bouts.
