Miles gets off to a fast start and Chernouskis spends much of his time covering up. Within seconds – the Latvian's face has already reddened from the punches. It’s a nice display of boxing from the Shinfield's fighter who pressures his opponent in the corner mid-way through this first round.

Landing left and right hooks and decent body-shots, Miles dominates. Sky Sports Stats reveal that Miles has thrown 33 punches in the opener as opposed to 6 from Chernouskis. More...

Last night the Harvey Hadden Sports Complex in Nottingham, England, promoter Frank Maloney hosted a fight night headlined by 'Boxing Binman' Rendall Munroe’s fifth defence of his European Super Bantamweight title.

Facing Italy's Simone ‘Boom Boom’ Maludrottu, this could be Munroe's toughest test, but winning this contest may propel him to a much deserved world title fight.

The atmosphere inside the venue was fantastic! Munroe always enjoys big crowd support and last night was no exception as a sea of fluorescent ‘bin-man-style’ tabards greeted him as he entered the ring. More...

Yesterday at the Gateway Hotel in Nottingham, England, promoter Frank Maloney hosted the official weigh-in ahead of tonight's European super bantamweight title clash between reigning champion Rendall Munroe and former European bantam titlist and WBC world title challenger Simone Maludrottu.

Proceedings went smoothly and quickly. The two men quietly took turns weighing in and both posed for the obligatory ‘face-off’ photographs. As you would expect from these two boxers - there was no goading or verbal onslaught from either man.

Munroe looked in fantastic shape and was calm and relaxed throughout.

Weights were as follows:

European super bantamweight championship, 12 rounds
Rendall Munroe: 8 stone 10 pounds/122 lb
Simone Maludrottu: 8 stone 9 and a quarter pounds/121.25 lb More...

Today at the Gateway Hotel in Nottingham, England, promoter Frank Maloney hosted a press conference ahead of Friday's fight night at the Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre, in which Leicester binman Rendall Munroe will defend his European super bantamweight title for the fifth time.

Munroe's opponent, former European bantamweight champion and WBC title challenger Simone ‘Boom Boom’ Maludrottu of Italy arrived in England yesterday and sat at today's press conference alongside his trainer.

Unable to speak English, Maludrottu answered questions via an interpreter, who sat between Maludrottu and his trainer.

A confident Munroe sat alongside his team of Jason and Mike Shinfield. Munroe's good friend and British super bantam champion Jason Booth was on hand to offer support as were Munroe's stablemates, light heavyweight Ovill McKenzie and light welter Scott Haywood, who also fight on Friday's bill. On Saturday, SaddoBoxing returned to Shinfield's Gym to check on the "Boxing Binman", Rendall Munroe. European super bantam champion Munroe faces Italian boxer Simone Maludrottu on Friday night (20th November) at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre in Nottingham, England.

Saturday morning was a hive of activity at the gym. Munroe and some of his stable-mates were already working up a sweat power-skipping while others were out on a run.

Today, Ovill McKenzie, Scot Haywood, Scot Slater, Dale Miles and Steven Jevons were also in training for their upcoming fights on Friday night. Other boxers in the gym included Luke Gallear, Simon Fleck, Junior Thompson and Jatinder Johal. More...

Rendall Munroe has been told he faces the toughest night of his professional career when he faces Simone Maludrottu (30-2).

The Leicester binman (19-1) will be making the fifth defence of his European super bantamweight crown when he faces the tricky Italian mandatory challenger at Nottingham's Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre on Friday, November 20.

This past Friday afternoon, SaddoBoxing visited Shinfield's Gym in Somercotes, Derbyshire, to check in on European Super Bantamweight Champion Rendall Munroe.

The "Boxing Binman" will be making the fifth defence of his crown on November 20 in Nottingham, England when he faces Italy's former European Bantam Champion and world title challenger Simone ‘Boom Boom’ Maludrottu, who brings a record of 30 wins (11 by KO) and 2 losses to the contest.

With an impressive record of 19 wins (8 by KO) and just 1 loss, which occurred during a British Featherweight title challenge against Andy Morris in 2006, southpaw Munroe is surely heading for a world title clash. More...

Last night at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Frank Maloney promoted a fight-night headlined by local-man Chris Edwards’ first defence of his British and Commonwealth flyweight titles.

Billed as ‘Lord of the Flys', Edwards faced Derby boxer Usman ‘Uzzy’ Ahmed in what would turn out to be a ‘gritty’ battle between the two flyweights.

Ahmed, a popular but ‘odd’ little character, dances into the ring ahead of the Champion. As soon as Edwards reaches the ring, Uzzy goes right up to him in a taunting manner but Edwards remains stony-faced and looked at his opponent with ‘distaste’. Edwards has huge support from the local crowd.

An all-action contest right from the start - both men ‘fly’ at each other but Edwards looks more focussed against the less experienced Ahmed and appears ‘solid’ looking against his skinny opponent. More...

Last night at the Metrodome in Barnsley, England Frank Maloney hosted a fight night billed as “Sublime Skill vs. Brute Force”, headlined by the clash between Rendall Munroe of Leicester, England and Kiko Martinez of Alicante, Spain.

"Boxing Binman" or "2Tone" Munroe would face Spaniard ‘La Sensation’ Martinez for the fourth defence of his European Super Bantamweight belt which he won from Martinez in March last year.

There was a great atmosphere at the Metrodome as a sea of fluorescent tabbards awaited the entrance of popular Munroe. The taller Leicester man looked in fantastic shape as he waited to hear the bell signalling the start of the fight.

Straight away, both boxers get to work, with Martinez starting fast and targeting the body of Munroe. Mid-way through the first round, Martinez already has a cut to the right eye and Munroe also has blood to the face.

The Spaniard scores with the left hook and Munroe tucks in tight as he goes for the body again. As he goes back to the corner, it’s clear that Munroe has a cut to the left brow and a nick on the head. More...
