Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall Make Weight as Cage-Kicking Chaos Steals the Show
The talking is almost over. Almost.
Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall both successfully made weight ahead of their heavyweight showdown in Manchester, but it was the face-off afterwards that got people talking.
Fury tipped the scales at 217.5lbs while Hall came in at a massive 325.6lbs, leaving over 100lbs between the pair heading into fight night.
During the face-off, Hall brought the chaos as usual, even appearing to try and kick apart part of the cage setup while Fury attempted to keep things simple.
“Let’s just do the face-to-face,” Fury said as the situation threatened to descend into the usual Misfits madness.
The pair have remained surprisingly friendly throughout much of the build-up, but that friendship looks set to disappear once the opening bell rings.
Hall looked relaxed and confident afterwards.
“I’m feeling good, on point and the lightest I’ve been in a long time,” he said. “I’ve got to line my shots up and if it happens, it happens.”
Fury was equally confident in his chances.
“I’m ready to fight and the beast is going back into his cage. The first shot I land, it’s over.”
Big Stacks vs Armz Korleone Back On… For Now
One of the strangest stories of fight week took another twist.
Big Stacks, the self-proclaimed UK’s hardest man, confirmed at Thursday’s weigh-in that his fight with Armz Korleone was off after the fallout from being sucker punched by Jordan McCann earlier in the week.
However, within the last hour, Stacks revealed he had received medical clearance and that the fight is officially back on.
Whether it actually happens remains to be seen. With the amount of drama surrounding this one, nobody will fully believe it until both men are standing in the ring.
Anthony Taylor and Matty Floyd Exchange Confidence
Anthony Taylor (174.4) vs Matty Floyd (174.9)
Matty Floyd sounded determined to make an impression.
“It’s good he compares himself with the best because I want to fight the best. I’ll make a statement tomorrow. I’m not just here to participate.”
Taylor responded in typical Taylor fashion.
“The pretty boy is back. The champ is here. I’m gonna whoop his ass.”
Swarmz Predicts A Stoppage
Swarmz (164.4) vs Biel (155)
Biel kept things respectful, saying it was an honour to be on the card.
Swarmz appreciated his opponent stepping in at short notice but still expects a short night’s work.
“I respect him for taking the fight at short notice, but I’m gonna stop him.”
Questions Remain Around Jordan McCann
Ibiza Final Boss (197.6) vs Jordan McCann
Jordan McCann failed to appear for the weigh-in, raising fresh questions over whether he will show up on fight night after a week full of controversy.
Ibiza Final Boss seemed more than ready regardless.
“I’m fully confident I’ll smash the bully boy.”
Judging by the crowd reaction throughout the week, plenty of fans appear to be hoping he gets the opportunity.
Jade Jones Brings Her Nan To The Face-Off
Jade Jones (135) vs Federikita (133.4)
Federikita kept it simple.
“Tomorrow I win. She f***ing loses.”
Jade Jones wasn’t impressed with the language.
“There’s no need to swear. I’ve got my Nan here.”
Only in Misfits.
Round Two Prediction From Adam Brooks
Adam Brooks (166.8) vs Rahim Pardesi (166)
Rahim predicted a rough night for himself, joking that he was getting smashed tomorrow.
Brooks wasn’t interested in the theatrics.
“It’ll be a round two knockout. I can’t be bothered with all this.”
Pardesi looked less than thrilled during the face-off.
Tempers Flare Between Lil Bellsy and The CrAsian
Lil Bellsy (122.7) vs The CrAsian (123.1)
The CrAsian attempted to slap Bellsy during the face-off, adding another layer of bad blood.
Bellsy responded by calling her opponent a bitch and insisted she wasn’t concerned by The CrAsian’s MMA background.
This one clearly isn’t lacking hostility.
Burger-Gate Continues
Sheena Bathory (135.6) vs Tina Snows (135.2)
The burger incident from the press conference wasn’t forgotten.
Tina Snows, who slapped a burger into Sheena Bathory’s face earlier in the week, promised more punishment on fight night.
“I’m gonna feed her another burger with these hands.”
Bathory, whose real name is Franciska Szabo, looked in excellent shape at the weigh-in and appeared genuinely fired up.
“This is personal.”
Out of all the undercard fights, this might be one of the most heated.
Karim and Nevin Ready To Go
Khallas Karim (169.1) vs Luke Nevin (169.1)
Karim was animated throughout the cage face-off while Nevin remained calm and completely unfazed.
Nevin predicted an early finish.
“I’ll stop him early doors. He’s ordinary.”
Karim simply insisted he was ready.
Another Withdrawal Hits The Card
Saks, the self-proclaimed Britain’s hardest man, has officially pulled out of his scheduled appearance.
Given everything that has happened during this fight week, it almost feels normal.
Final Thoughts
Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall were always going to grab the headlines, but the undercard somehow managed to create just as much drama.
From missing fighters and cancelled fights becoming uncancelled fights, to burgers, slaps and cage-kicking face-offs, this has been peak Misfits Boxing.
Now we find out which of it actually matters once the punches start flying.
