Claressa Shields Stops Kaye Scott in Six Rounds to Become New WBA Champion – World Boxing Association
Claressa Shields once again reaffirmed her status as one of the leading figures in women’s boxing worldwide. In another display of physical strength and tactical brilliance, the American superstar captured the WBA World Middleweight Championship by stopping determined Australian challenger Kaye Scott via sixth-round technical knockout.
From the opening bell, the self-proclaimed “GWOAT” — Greatest Woman of All Time — took control of the fight. Shields established herself in the center of the ring with remarkable composure, combining blazing hand speed with sharp combinations to Scott’s head and body. The Australian challenger fought bravely but was ultimately overwhelmed by the champion’s accuracy and relentless pace.
The finish came in the sixth round, when Shields stepped on the gas and trapped Scott against the ropes. After unleashing a sustained barrage of power punches with Scott unable to mount an effective defensive response, the referee stepped in to halt the action and protect the challenger, awarding Shields the technical knockout victory.
With the emphatic stoppage, Claressa Shields returned to the middleweight division and reclaimed the prestigious WBA black-and-gold belt at 160 pounds.
