WBA Mourns the Passing of Hayden Panettiere and Extends Condolences to Wladimir Klitschko – World Boxing Association
The World Boxing Association, its President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza and the organization’s entire Executive Committee extend their deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences following the passing of American actress Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday, August 16, at the age of 36 in South Carolina.
The WBA family extends its solidarity, comfort and strength to legendary former undisputed heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, Panettiere’s longtime partner and former fiancé, as well as their daughter, Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, her parents and all of her loved ones during this time of profound grief.
During Klitschko’s historic and dominant reign as a heavyweight champion under the WBA banner and the other major sanctioning bodies, Panettiere was a constant, affectionate and familiar presence at ringside, supporting the Ukrainian champion through many of the biggest title defenses of his career and earning the respect and affection of the worldwide boxing community.
Known around the world for her leading roles in successful television and film productions such as Heroes, Nashville and the Scream franchise, Panettiere left an indelible mark both in the entertainment world and in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
The WBA joins her loved ones in mourning her loss and offers its prayers for the eternal repose of her soul.
