Skye Falzon Dominates Monika Singh to Capture WBA Oceania and WBA Asia Featherweight Titles – World Boxing Association

In front of her hometown crowd in New South Wales, Australia’s Skye Falzon delivered a masterful performance, dominating India’s Monika Singh en route to a lopsided unanimous decision and capturing the WBA Oceania and WBA Asia women’s featherweight championships.

Falzon’s command of the fight was reflected in the complete agreement of the three ringside judges, who rewarded her consistency and effective aggression with identical scorecards of 99-91, 99-91 and 99-91. The scores reflected Falzon’s control of nine of the 10 scheduled rounds.

From the opening bell, Falzon took command of the center of the ring. Working behind a compact guard and a steady body attack, she used hooks to the midsection to immediately neutralize Singh’s attempts to box from long range. The Asian challenger showed toughness and pride, standing her ground against the relentless pressure, but her jab proved insufficient to keep Falzon at bay or disrupt the new unified champion’s relentless combination punching.

As the final rounds unfolded, Falzon managed her lead without taking her foot off the gas. She cut off the ring, closed off escape routes and landed punishing hooks to the chin to cement her victory before the final bell.

With the impressive win, Skye Falzon unifies the featherweight division’s (126 pounds) regional leadership across the Pacific and Asia, taking a significant step forward in her career.
