Before legendary Philadelphia warrior Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins steps into the ring in his hometown to face Enrique Ornelas at the Liacouras Center at Temple University on Wednesday, December 2, the next generation of champions and contenders will battle it out and show their local fans just what it means to be a fighter from Philadelphia.
In the co-featured bout of the evening, unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Danny Garcia from Philadelphia is already a hometown favorite and will now fight for the first time in front of his local fans as a professional when heputs his perfect 14-0 record on the line in a 10 round bout against the dangerous Enrique Colin of Guasave Sinaloa.
Other local favorites in action will be unbeaten Philly standouts Karl Dargan, Teneal Goyco and debuting former amateur star Julian Williams. Rounding out the show will beNewark, New Jersey’s Mike Perez and Fort Myers, Florida’s Derrick Wilson.
“Broad Street Brawl”: Hopkins vs. Ornelas, a 12-round light heavyweight bout which is presented by Golden Boy Promotions East and sponsored by MGM Grand in Las Vegas will be televised live on VERSUS beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first bell rings at 6 p.m. ET.
