Boxing Spotlight: Rendall Munroe Prepares For Simone Maludrottu Part Three

On Saturday, SaddoBoxing returned to Shinfield’s Gym to check on the “Boxing Binman”, Rendall Munroe. European super bantam champion Munroe faces Italian boxer Simone Maludrottu on Friday night (20th November) at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre in Nottingham, England.
Saturday morning was a hive of activity at the gym. Munroe and some of his stable-mates were already working up a sweat power-skipping while others were out on a run.
Today, Ovill McKenzie, Scot Haywood, Scot Slater, Dale Miles and Steven Jevons were also in training for their upcoming fights on Friday night. Other boxers in the gym included Luke Gallear, Simon Fleck, Junior Thompson and Jatinder Johal.
Once they had finished skipping – Munroe shadow-boxed alongside his mates, then did pad-work with trainer Jason Shinfield. This was followed by numerous ‘rounds’ on the many punch-bags hanging from the ceiling. And finally – gruelling exercises on the mat.
With less than a week to go – Munroe’s training is winding down. Not the sort of man to ‘shout about it’ – the Leicester boxer is happy with his training and is ready for fight-night, content to take his advice from Jason as to how to deal with his opponent.

Frank Maloney Promotions presents a night of boxing at the Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre, Nottingham on Friday 20th November, in which Rendall Munroe will defend his European Super Bantamweight title for the fifth time.
