Commonwealth King Johnson Added To Roy Jones Jnr Boxing Dinner Lineup

Fresh from his success, at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, Gold Medalist Callum Johnson is set to come face to face with his long time hero, seven time World Champion, Roy Jones Jnr. this coming Saturday.

Callum, who secured Gold on beating Northern Ireland’s Thomas McCarthy by an 8-1 margin in the Light Heavyweight (81kg) final just one week ago, will be a special guest at ‘An Evening With Roy Jones Jnr.’ at the Cedric Ford Pavilion, Newark Showground, Newark, Nottinghamshire on Saturday the 23rd October.

Amongst the many Boxing stars set to join Callum at the Carl Greaves promoted special event and spend an evening with living legend, seven time, at four weights, World Champion, Roy Jones Jnr., are European Middleweight Champion Matthew Macklin, European Lightweight Champion John Murray, IBF Super Bantamweight Title Challenger Jason Booth, Commonwealth Middleweight Champion Martin Murray, English Super Featherweight Champion Anthony Crolla, English Bantamweight Champion Craig Lyon, former British Super Bantamweight Champion Esham Pickering, British Light Middleweight Title Challenger Martin Concepcion, Featherweight Joe Murray, former Lightweight campaigner Oliver Harrison

Elated promoter of the event, former WBF Super Featherweight World Champion ‘Cool’ Carl Greaves said of the coup, “I am so pleased that Callum accepted our invitation to be a special guest on Saturday. He fought so well in India and proved that he is without doubt one of the most talented young boxers in the sport today.

I know Roy’s a hero of his and thought what could be better than to have him meet Roy, as a reward for his outstanding achievement.”

Carl then went on to talk about the upcoming ‘Evening with Roy Jones Jnr.’ event, “It’s going to be a great night. We’re already sold out of the Gold tickets but there are still plenty of Silver and Bronze available.

It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet with one of the greatest boxers of all time. It’s going to be a great night for boxing fans, not only will they get to meet Roy, they’ll be treated to a sumptuous meal and a great evening of entertainment. They’ll also get to spend time with some top British boxers like Callum Johnson, Matt Macklin, John Murray etc.”

Carl has put together an exceptional evening that, in addition to meeting Roy Jones Jnr., and the myriad of British boxing stars, those lucky enough to attend will be treated to a four course meal, a photo opportunity with living legend Roy Jones Jnr. and auction of Sporting memorabilia, a raffle with a top prize of £500 as well as a comedian .

‘An Evening With Roy Jones Jnr.’ will be held at the Cedric Ford Pavilion, Newark Showground, Newark, Nottinghamshire on Saturday the 23rd October.

Silver £100.00 – Doors open 7:00pm – Champagne reception
