Tributes continue to flood in, following the tragic death of another Boxing Legend. Former British Heavyweight Champion – Gary Mason, died last week having been involved in a collision with a van while riding his bike through London.
Mason, whose career spanned ten years, had an impressive 37 win (34 by KO) record suffering his only loss to Lennox Lewis in 1991 for the European and British titles.
Aged just 48 at the time of his demise, Mason began his career in 1984, posting wins over the likes of Tyrell Biggs, James “Quick” Tillist, Ricky Parkey, Jess Harding and Hughroy Curry before retiring in 1994 .
The Jamaican born London resident had run his record to 35-0 (32) before facing Lewis, 14-0 (12), at the time, who stopped Mason in the seventh round.
