Last night, at Lava & Ignite Nightclub, Preston, England, Hatton Promotions hosted a fightnight which featured five bouts.

The headliner saw popular local man – Matty Clarkson, improve his winning record when he faced debutant Matt Inman of Manchester in a four round Light Heavyweight Contest.

Inman didn’t appear fazed by Clarksons’ noisy support and proved a credible opponent – putting up a confident performance against ‘Magic Matty’. Clearly the debutant got through with some shots – as Clarksons right eye was badly swollen by the end of the contest.

Clarkson gets the points win 40-36 and improves to 4 wins no losses.

Dean Halsall faced last minute replacement – James Tucker, in a four round Super-Middleweight Contest.

There was bags of support for ‘Deano’ of Preston who secured a points win (40-36) over experienced Doncaster man -Tucker to notch up his fourth pro-win with no losses.

Tucker’s record now stands at 3 wins (1 by KO) 42 losses (2 by KO) and 3 draws.

Debutants – Chris Jenkinson and Jimmy Price provided some good action with both men keen to start their pro-careers with a win. A closely fought contest of six by two minute rounds in the Light Heavyweight Division sees both men’s gloves raised at the end of the fight.

‘Twinny’ of Bolton and Price of Swadlincote secured a draw of 58-58.

‘Lights Out’ Lyndon Newman of Stockport won on points (40-37) over Rick Boulter of Lincoln, in their four round Light-Middleweight Contest.

Newman ‘flew out’ of his corner in round one and slugs it out in the mid rounds landing with some decent left shots.

Newman improves to 3 wins (1 by KO) and 1 loss (1 by KO) while Boulter drops to 1 win 13 losses (2 by KO) and 3 draws.

Perhaps the most entertaining contest of the night was that of local man -Mick Hall and Ryan Clark of Waddington(!)

Experienced Clark was keen to show Hall that he wasn’t bothered by his punches – shimmying and showboating in response!

The four-round Light Middleweight Contest saw Hall secure the points win (40-36) and it was all ‘matey’ at the end between both men!

Hall ‘the hammer’ improves to 6 wins (1 by KO) no losses, while ‘Fearless’ Clark’s record now stands at 1 win 39 losses (2 by KO) and 4 draws.
