Bantam King Nonito Donaire Makes Public Appearance Monday

The Pride of the Philippines, WBC and WBO Bantamweight Champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Doniare (26-1, 18 KO’s) will be honored by the Filipino School of New York and New Jersey as part of Filipino American History Month next Monday, October 17, at 4 p.m. ET, at the Jersey City Public Library in Jersey City, NJ.

The event is free and open to the public. Jersey City Public Library is located at 1841 Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ, 07305.

Donaire will be making his New York debut and defending his title against undefeated two-division world champion Omar “El Huracán” Narvaez (35-0-2, 23 KOs), Saturday, October 22, in the Theater at Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of Boxing. Donaire enters this fight riding a nine-year, 25-bout winning streak.

Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Madison Square Garden, the Donaire-Narvaez world title tilt will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast.)
